Custom Attribute Marketplace Add-On allows the admin to create multiple product attributes for the sellers. The admin can select which custom attributes will be visible on the storefront. Using custom attributes, the marketplace sellers will be able to provide detailed information about their products.
In-depth information helps in describing the features, properties, and better-layered navigation of sellers' products to the customers. Custom attributes support various input types, multiple labels for different store views, storefront properties for search, compare, catalog pages visibility, etc.
Use Case
Let’s take a scenario if you are the owner of a marketplace e-commerce website. You have a marketplace website like Amazon in which many sellers will add their products. The products added by the seller have different kinds of attributes for example size, color, material, condition, etc. So, with the help of Custom Attribute Marketplace Add-on, the sellers can also add unlimited custom attributes on their products from the seller end.
This module allows the admin to show additional sellers’ product characteristics and features to the customers. The custom attribute also helps in better management of the products. The sellers can provide additional information while creating a product. With the help of custom attributes, customers can compare products, search products and can use it in layered navigation for filtering products at the storefront.

- Fully dynamic custom attribute creation.
- It supports input types i.e Text field, Text area, Date, Yes/No, Multiple Select, Dropdown, Visual Swatch as of now it does not support Fixed Product Tax.
- The admin will create the attribute and can select them to display/hide on the front end.
- The vendor can choose those attributes during the product upload.
- Attributes may be required or optional as the Magento admin attributes.
- The codes are open source so it can be customized as per your requirement.
- It supports the multi-store view.
- The custom attribute can be used in Layered Navigation for filtering products based on the custom attribute.

How Does The Extension Work?
Creating Attributes
From the backend, the admin can create a new attribute under the tab called “Manage Attributes". Here the admin can set the default label, catalog input type for the store owner, the value required is compulsory for a particular attribute, then click on the “Save Attribute” button.
Assigning Attribute Set
Here the admin can assign this attribute to the particular attribute set and can make them visible on the frontend for the seller so that sellers can add extra information for their products.
Manage Custom Attributes
Now all the attributes created by the admin will appear under the tab called “Manage Custom Attributes”. Here, the admin can select the required attributes and can make them visible on the frontend for the seller.
Add Custom Attribute
While adding a product, the seller can see the custom attributes which are enabled by the admin. The seller can add additional custom attributes to their products in the Marketplace. On the seller's end, the seller/vendor can see the allowed custom attributes while adding the new product.
Product Information
These custom attributes will allow the seller to add extra information about their product.
Search & Compare
Customers can use a custom attribute option for searching the products at the front end. With the help of custom attributes, option customers can compare the products.
