Overview
Back to topThe base language of a Magento store is English. All system messages in the Magento admin panel are in English in a default setting. The default language in a Magento shop frontend is English e.g. "Add to Cart" button, headlines in the checkout, registration process, etc.
To use a Magento shop in another language you need to install a language pack. Several language packs for different countries are available. This language pack is for the German-speaking market if you want to address your customers in an informal way with "du" not "Sie". This extension is free and does not need any code adjustment.
Feature List:
- Magento system messages are included for the store frontend
- System messages for the Magento admin panel are translated to "du"
- Translations are written by native Germans
- Works in all browsers
- easy to install
- after the default language is set to German, shop customization is easier
