Google Maps is a web mapping service developed by Google Inc, that offers satellite imagery, aerial photography, street maps, routes, and more. With Google Maps Cloud Platform it provides a set of APIs and SDKs that allow developers to embed and use Google Maps services into apps and web pages, or to retrieve data from Google Maps.

Dropship Marketplace Add-On facilitates the admin to manage the warehouses and also create shipping rules as per the table rate shipping method thus optimizing the shipping costs that would apply. The warehouse managers for their respective warehouses can add the shipping rules. Moreover, both the admin and the sellers can assign products to a warehouse and manage orders as well. Dropshipping is one of the advanced solutions in the era of the shipping scenarios as it lets the merchants or third party suppliers ship products/ orders to the customers present in different addresses. This means the order is delivered to the customer from the warehouse that is present near to the respective customer’s address or location. This in turn manages and calculates the shipping rates as per the origin address of the warehouse from where the order is being delivered. A major benefit of dropshipping is the store merchants do not have to stock the inventory or manage the logistics.

Business Value

Shipping has always been an integral part of the e-commerce industry. For this reason, business entrepreneurs seek to integrate methods and features that make the shipping process convenient and swift as it is the only way to generate satisfactory customers.

Dropship Marketplace Add-On is extremely beneficial for the sellers who own online stores and they wish to keep its security intact. Both the admin and the sellers get a better idea of their customers and likewise, they can allow the customers to use additional store’s facilities.

One of the prime features of dropshipping is that the products or the order are delivered to the customers from the nearest available warehouse. On one hand, as this is time-saving, on the other it ensures that your customers do not have to wait for weeks for their order, thus enhancing the customers’ shopping experience. t for each of the

How Does The Extension Work?

Google Maps API

At first, the admin will have to retrieve the Google API key to configure the dropship settings. Further, the admin can set the configurations of the fields such as name, email, quantity, warehouse assign, and lastly add the Google API key.

Assign Nearest Warehouse - Auto/Manual

Against the warehouse assigned field, the admin can set auto or manual. On choosing Auto – The customers will find the Dropshipping method at the time of checkout. While placing the order, the nearest warehouse, where the product is available will be assigned likewise. On choosing Manual – If the manual is chosen, the customers will only find the default shipping methods. After placing the order using the available shipping method, the admin will have to assign the nearest warehouse where the product is available, manually. Further, the admin can configure the fields such as show price details in order approval, order approved template, new warehouse account template under vendor dropship transactional emails

Create Multiple Warehouse Locations

Under warehouse manager, the admin can create new warehouses by adding the details such as user name, email, warehouse title, address, city, origin country, allowed shipping methods for that specific warehouse, etc. The admin can find the listing of the already created warehouses and find their details like-warehouse title, user name, description, and the status associated with the warehouses.

Warehouse Order Manager

In this section, the admin will find the orders placed by the customers. The admin has the leverage to approve or cancel any of the orders if required. The warehouse will be assigned (automatically or manually) as per the option chosen against the warehouse assigned field i.e. auto or manual. If auto is chosen in the admin configuration, as the customer places an order the nearest warehouse to the customer’s address is assigned to the order. In the case of the manual, the admin has to manually assign the order to the warehouse.

Warehouse Products

The admin can assign or unassign the products to different warehouses under warehouse products. The admin as well can assign a single product to multiple warehouses as required.

Upload Shipping Rules

The admin will find the list of shipping rules along with the details such as warehouse country code, postal code to/ from, weight to/ from, and cost. The admin can add new shipping rules as well. For that, the admin needs to add/ upload shipping rules files against the chosen shipping rules file field. The admin will have to choose a warehouse against the select warehouse field.

Assigning Warehouses

The sellers, in their respective panels, can assign warehouse to their products by navigating to my products section. The seller needs to choose a product and edit it and then navigate to the warehouse stock section and choose the warehouse which is to be assigned. Meanwhile, the customers can choose the shipping method as per the warehouses on the checkout page. The warehouse shipping will be updated and the customer can proceed with the purchase.

Warehouse Managers

As the warehouse managers can log in to their accounts, they will find Vendor Dropship Menu available under the Marketplace Management in the dashboard menu option. Further, the warehouse manager can manage the account, shipping, and orders.

Warehouse Order Manage

The warehouse order manager includes the orders for which the warehouse’s shipment method is set and the invoice is created. The warehouse manager can even generate shipments for the orders.

Manage Shipping Rules

In this section, the warehouse managers will find all the shipping rules created and can even generate new shipping rules for their warehouses. To add new shipping rules, the warehouse managers will have to download a sample file and fill in the shipping rule as needed. Then the CSV including the shipping rules is to be uploaded and configurations need to be saved.
