Order Split & Merge extension allows the store owner to split and merge the orders easily and can use it as an (OMS) Order Management System to manage the orders and select the shipping option. It is also beneficial for merchants who are shipping products from different warehouses.

When an order contains different products that need to be shipped from different warehouses, then the admin can split the order and manage the shipments easily for each respective warehouse. Multiple validations are available for splitting and merging orders. Further, orders can be merged automatically.

Post successful installation, the admin has to configure the extension settings wherein the admin will first set up the required options for the - Merge Order Validations, Split Order Validations, and Auto Merge Orders that allow the proper functioning for the extension.

Order Split

Now, after the orders get placed at the web store frontend, the admin can view them under the orders section. Here, the admin will select the order that needs to be split as per the need by navigating to the order grid. After selecting the order that needs to be split, the admin can choose the Split option from the Actions drop-down. This brings up a pop-up wherein the admin will see -

  • Set of condition check whether the order can get split or not.
  • Option to enter the number of products that are needed to split, use a '0' if you do not want to split a product.
  • Select the shipping for the orders that will get split.

After that, the admin will choose the shipping option wherein the admin can:

  • Split orders shipping charges into two orders.
  • Set the option to use only the main shipping charges.
  • Set up the custom shipping charges.
  • Choose to calculate new shipping charges.

Lastly, after entering the quantity to split and selecting the shipping order the admin can tap the Proceed to Split button to split the respective order.

Merge Orders

To merge the orders, navigate to the orders section and choose the orders to merge. After this, choose the Merge option by tapping on the Actions drop-down. This brings up a pop-up displaying the conditions being checked and if all are satisfied, a Next button is seen on the same to continue further. Tapping the Next button brings up the section to choose the parent order and the admin can also choose the shipping at this moment. For the shipping selection, the admin can choose one from the available options that are:

  • Merge the shipping charges of all the orders that are being merged.
  • Calculate the shipping that will be based on the parent order.
  • Set up the custom shipping but the shipping name will remain the same.

After selecting the parent order and shipping option, click on the Merge orders button to merge the order after which a success message gets displayed. After merging the order, all orders apart from the parent order will be canceled. The admin can now see the merged orders with all of the products.  In this way, the admin can easily merge multiple orders and ship them after that. It will surely help the admin to reduce shipping costs and also the order processing time.
