The Google Places API is a service that accepts HTTP requests for location data through a variety of methods. It returns formatted location data and imagery about establishments, geographic locations, or prominent points of interest.

We have incorporated the Google Maps API to display the location of the dealers on Google Maps when a user searches for a dealer using the city name or the zip code on the storefront.

This extension allows customers to find dealers in any location. The users can become a dealer, and check their dealership status. Apart from that, the admin can manage the dealership approval and can create the attributes for the dealer profile page.

Configuration

After the successful installation of the extension, the admin will enable the functionality, enter the Google API key, set the radius in miles or kilometers, and set the allowed file and image extensions for the plugin.

Dealership Management

The admin can manage dealers, attributes, and as well as attribute groups. 

• Manage Dealers - Here, the admin can delete, approve, or disapprove the dealership request as required. 
• Dealer Attribute Manager - Here, the admin can manage, add, and edit the dealer attributes as required. Apart from that, the admin can choose which attributes to show on the dealer's profile. Apart from that, the admin can assign an attribute group to the created attributes under this section. 
• Attribute Group Manager - Here, the admin can delete the attribute group and can enable or disable the status of an attribute group as required.

Storefront Workflow

When a user visits the website landing page there in the header of the Magento website the user will find the options for becoming a Dealer, Finding a Dealer, and to check the Dealership status.

• Becoming a dealer - Under this section a user can become a dealer. To do so the users need to enter their details and then register as a dealer. After registering as a dealer the dealer needs to wait for the approval for their account.
  
  
• Find Dealer - Under this section, the customers will be able to search for the nearest dealers according to their entered city or zip code. The available dealers within the vicinity will get displayed to the customer. The customer can also see the location of the dealers on Google Maps.
  
  
  
• Dealership Status - After the submission of the dealership application, the dealer can come to this section to check the status of their dealership status as pending, approved, or disapproved. The dealer needs to enter the email address that was used to register as a dealer and tap the submit button after that. Then the dealer can see his particular dealership status accordingly.
