Shipping Availability Marketplace Add-On

Note - This module is an add-on of Webkul's Marketplace Module. To use this module, you must have purchased and installed Multi Vendor Marketplace first.

Shipping Availability Marketplace Add-On allows the customers to find out product availability using a zipcode search. The users can simply enter their zip code on the product page and will know the shipping availability immediately. The admin and the marketplace sellers can create many regions and upload a zip code CSV file for each region. Multiple available regions can be configured for a product. The regions can be set for both new and existing products. Saved address details automatically appear for a Logged In user. The users can also view the recent zip code search history for a product.

Business Value

Before making a purchase for a product, the user must know whether the product can actually be delivered to its location or not. With the help of this add-on, the users will know about the shipping availability for their region on the product page itself. The users aren't required to do the checkout process for finding out the product availability information. If a product is available for the entered zip code, the user can go ahead and buy the product.

Features List

  • The admin can show or hide the shipping availability check.
  • The admin can select the shipping check field to be visible on all products or certain products.
  • Allow orders only for validated zip codes.
  • Seller and admin can create multiple shipping regions
  • Upload zip codes CSV file for each shipping region.

How Does The Extension Works?

Zipcode Validation

The admin of the store will have to manage the basic settings related to the module. The admin can first enable/disable the module. The admin can also set either the customer will be able to place orders only for the saved zip codes, or for the external codes too. The admin will also select the Zip Code Validator Availability among Apply to Individual Products and Apply To All Products. Then admin will add the message visible in the frontend to the customer.

Accept Orders Only For Saved Zip Codes

If Yes is selected, a customer can place orders only for the validated zip codes set by the admin or a seller. So it means if a zip code does not match from the zip codes list, an order cannot be placed. But, if No option is selected, a customer can place an order for any zip code entered during the checkout process. The zip code validation rule will not work in this case.

Apply To All Products

When the admin selects the Apply To All Products, then the admin also needs to select the region from the list under the configuration. Further for the product edit page of the admin and seller end, a drop-down will be visible for the zip code validation field. That dropdown will contain the options like  Apply default configuration, Select Specific, No Validation, and All Regions.

Apply Default Shipping Regions

If this option is selected, the regions that are selected by the admin in the module configuration will be validated for the products. And the products will be available in those regions only.

Select Specific Regions

Under this, the admin will be able to select specific regions from the dropdown. And the product will be available in those specific regions only.

No Validation Check

For this option, the products will be visible in all the regions. That means, the field to enter the zip code will not be visible in the frontend.

All Regions

If the admin selects All Regions in Zip Code Validation for the admin product, then all available admin’s regions will be assigned to that product. If the admin selects All Regions in the Zip Code Validation field, for seller product, then all available seller’s regions will be assigned to that product.

Apply To Individual Products

When the admin selects this option in the configuration, then the admin needs to enable validation for each product. After enabling, the admin and seller can simply select the regions from the dropdown.

Manage Shipping Regions

The admin can create regions from the backend. They just need to provide the region name, set the status to enabled, and upload the CSV file for the zip codes range for that particular region. The admin will also assign products to the region. The admin can also check all the zip codes for the available regions.

Seller Shipping Regions

The seller can also create the regions for their products. The same process will be followed as done by the admin to add the new region. The seller can also check all the zip codes for the available regions.

Zipcode Availability Check

Finally, when all the settings are performed, the customer can see the feature in the frontend. The system will display the relevant message for product availability and unavailability for the entered region. The field will be visible for only those products that are assigned to the regions. Saved addresses/ zip codes will be visible in the dropdown for the logged in users.

For Store Admin

  • Can select the validation types.
  • Create regions for product availability.
  • A validation message will be added by the admin.
  • Add zip code CSV files for the regions.

For Marketplace Sellers

  • The seller can manage the regions and add new regions.
  • The seller can edit the validation for their products.
  • The seller can view the zip codes for their created regions.

For Customers

  • It is very important to know regarding the shipping availability before buying any sort of product.
  • Don't need to log in and complete the lengthy checkout process.
  • The saved address of a Logged In user automatically appears in the zip code text box, therefore the user does not need to enter the same zip code repeatedly for every product.
