Note - This module is an add-on of Webkul's Marketplace Module. To use this module, you must have purchased and installed Webkul's Marketplace Module first.
Tax Manager Marketplace Add-On allows merchants to manage taxes from their end, according to their need. Using this extension, merchants can add tax classes, tax rules, and tax rates. Merchants can create product tax classes that will be used at the product creation form to add the tax rates for their products. The admin will set the customer tax class that will be used by the sellers to create their product tax rules. After creating the tax rules, rates and classes, when the buyer will add the seller’s product to their shopping cart, they will see the applicable tax for that particular product in the cart.
Merchants will find the tax manager menu item in their account panel. The tax manager has two sub-menu items - Tax Rates & Tax Rules. Sellers can add new tax rates by clicking on the add new tax rate. After adding the new tax rates the seller will click on the tax rules to add new tax rules. While creating the new tax rules the seller will select the created tax rates and add new product tax classes. This product tax class is used to add the tax rates while adding a product at the add new product page. When the buyer will place an order for the seller's product he will see the applicable tax amount on the seller's product.
Use Case of Tax Manager Marketplace Add-On - The main usage of this extension is to allow merchants to add and manage their own tax rates for their products. Merchants will add the tax rate, rules & classes. When customers purchase products they can see the tax amount that is applicable on the product.
Tax Manager Marketplace Add-On Features -
- Admin can enable/disable tax manager from seller panel.
- Admin can create tax rules for sellers.
- Admin can create product tax class for sellers.
- Admin can set customer tax class for sellers to create tax rules.
- Admin can see tax amount on seller products order in a separate grid.
- Seller can create tax rules, product tax classes and tax rates of his own.
- Product tax classes created by the seller is used on product creation form.
Workflow of Tax Manager Marketplace Add-On -
After the installation of the module, admin will configure the module settings in the admin panel. Admin will navigate to Seller Tax Manager Settings to enable the module and to set the customer tax class that will be used by the sellers to create their tax rules.
Now the sellers will find "Tax Manager" menu item in their account panel. It has two sub menu items - Tax Rates and Tax Rules. Seller will click on the Tax Rates to add new tax rates. After clicking the "Add New Tax Rate" button another page will open up where the seller can define the tax rates. After entering all the values seller will save the tax rates. Here the sellers can select the Zip range from and to for the states if the option Zip/Post is range is checked.
Sellers will click on the "Add New Tax Rule" button to add new tax rules on the page that opens up. Here the seller will enter the tax rule name, select the tax rate(Can select multiple tax rates also), add new product tax class, set the priority and check the option to apply tax rate off the subtotal or uncheck the option to apply tax rate on grand total.
Now the seller can select the Product Tax Class created above while adding a new product under the tax class on the add new product page. When the buyer will place the order for the seller's product he can see the tax amount under the checkout page that has been added by the seller.

This extension will definitely help the sellers to add and create their own product tax classes that will be used to add the tax rates to their products. While adding a product at the add new product page will allow the marketplace sellers to set the tax rates for their products on their own and at their ease.
