Google Maps is a web mapping service developed by Google. It offers satellite imagery, aerial photography, street maps, real-time traffic conditions, and route planning. Google Maps also offers an API that allows maps to be embedded on third-party websites and offers a locator for businesses and other organizations in numerous countries around the world.

Hyperlocal System Marketplace Add-On connects the customers with local stores and also transforms the shopping experience of the customers. This module is very beneficial for both the sellers and the buyers. The seller can easily add the locations where they want to ship their products. Multiple locations can be added. A location pop-up window will appear whenever any customers visit the website. The customer will then have to enter their location and then they can see all the available products & sellers in the selected location. The sellers can add their location according to which their products are displayed to the customer. The seller and the admin can also add the shipping rate according to the location range. This add-on supports hyperlocal table rate shipping and the seller can add shipping prices by uploading a CSV file.

Business Value

Nowadays, business models are developing and improving exponentially with time, sometimes due to changes in the market trend, due to technological advancements. Also, the unexpected surge of Internet users and location tracking devices have promoted the branch of Hyperlocal Marketplace.

The hyperlocal system is really helpful when you want to target the customers in your desired geographical location or area. This add-on will convert your marketplace into a hyperlocal system where customers will only be able to see and search the sellers and products which are available in their location.

Sometimes it happens that a customer likes some product and when he goes for purchasing that product, he sees that the product is not available to his location. So in this case, our hyperlocal system eliminates this problem and only shows the products which are available in the customer's selected location.

The customer places an order on a website and gets the things delivered three-four days after placing the order. But in case of Hyperlocal, if a customer is ordering something so the clear provision is that the delivery must be done to the customer within a few hours of placing the order.

The on-demand service model needs immediate provisioning of orders and solves the problem of meeting immediate demand with the nearest available supply in the most optimized manner.

The hyperlocal business has taken the on-demand delivery model to the next level. The ultimate purpose of this pattern is to serve services and delivery of goods to a limited geographical area, as per the customers’ requirement within a shorter duration of time.

As because of the timely delivery of products and services on the verge of sitting at home offers the business owners implement the hyperlocal supply chain pattern. The customers find it easier to get things done without physically going to the shops. Thus, disrupting the businesses of traditional vendors.

In this extension, the store admin cannot sell the products directly. Henceforth the admin needs to create a seller account to sell their products.

Google Maps Hyperlocal System

The admin can set-up a hyperlocal system to advance the marketplace store. The admin can enable/restrict single-seller checkout to allows the customer to checkout with a single seller product. The admin needs to provide the Google API Key to enable Google search suggestion to work for the location. The admin can set the background banner image and find the location button color.

Custom Hyperlocal Shipping Rule

The admin can enable or disable the shipping method and can set the Shipping Method name that will be visible on the frontend.

Upload Bulk Shipping Rates Via. CSV

The admin can view and manage the Shipping Rates also can download the sample CSV file and can then upload the CSV file containing the new ship rates. The seller can add shipping rates by clicking on “Ship Rate” and from here seller can upload the CSV file of new Shipping Rates. The seller can also delete any previously added rate.

Seller Serviceable Area

Sellers can see the “Hyper-Local” option in the marketplace menu.  The seller can set up their origin address through the seller origin menu option. After adding the origin, the seller will move to manage the outlet. Also, the seller can easily create multiple outlets/warehouses which are used for stocking up the inventory and delivering of products to the customer.

Assign Sources To Product

After creating outlets seller needs to enter the stock of products respectively available in the multiple outlets. While creating a new product or by making changes in an existing product seller can assign the stock to the multiple outlets.

Multi-Source Stock Management

Manage stock after outlet creation at the storefront, the admin needs to save those outlets in the stock. The admin needs to create new stock and assign all the outlets into the created stock. To make the products visible on the storefront assigning outlets in the stock is mandatory for the admin otherwise products will not appear on the frontend.

Show Sellers & Stores Based On Customer’s Location

When a customer visits website a pop-up opens up asking to enter the location. Customers can’t be redirected to the homepage without entering the address. As soon as the customer enters the location, on the frontend of the website, the customer will be able to see all the nearest available sellers.

Update Cart On Location Change

The customer/seller can change address either header or from the change address option available in the footer. After clicking on the change address tab logged-in customer/seller can choose the previously used address to select their location. While changing the location customer will see a pop-up notification stating “On location address, change cart will empty”. If no sellers are available in the customer entered location then it will show product not available message.
