Canada Post is the leading provider of electronic commerce and customer communication solutions in Canada. It operates Canada’s largest retail network that reaches more than 15.3 million addresses with convenient pickup and returns options.
Canada Post Marketplace Add-On will allow the store owner and marketplace sellers to offer Canada Post shipping method for delivering their products to customers. This extension gets the real-time shipping rates via. Canada Post API. Every seller can enter their Canada Post account details to connect Canada Post shipping account with the marketplace. The shipping rates are calculated according to the seller’s origin address, weight, and delivery location. The admin and sellers can generate and print Canada Post shipping label from their orders section.
Business Value
The shipping is mainly connected with the rates and the time of the product delivery. With Canada post shipping the product can be delivered from Canada - Canada, Canada - US and Canada - other countries. Suppose, the customer from China wants to buy something from any international website in which the Canada Post Shipping method is integrated then the customer can assure the delivery of the product on the mentioned date and rate of the delivery. As this shipping method has guaranteed delivery timings and the rates, the customer will feel more secure. The customers can also make a return if they received any faulty product. The return policy will be as per the estimated time and will not have any delay. As this shipping method allows the product to get delivered globally it became more convenient for the customer to purchase from the international websites.
Account & Pricing
To use this extension, an additional account is needed. The store admin and the sellers must have the Canada Post Business Account to use Canada Post services.

How Does The Extension Works?
Canada Post API Credentials
The admin will enable the Canada Post Shipping in the admin configuration. To integrate the shipping facilities, the Agreement type, Title, API User ID, API Password, Client Number, Agreement Number, and many other details will be added in the configurations. The API credentials will retrieve through the sandbox account. Agreement type will be either Contract or Non-Contract. The Agreement number field will be visible for agreement type as Contract.
Setup Handling Charges
The admin can choose the handling charges among Fixed and Percentage. The admin will add the weight of the parcel which is used to calculate the shipping rates.
Canada Post For Marketplace Sellers
The admin can also enable the Allow sellers to save Canada Post details which will allow the seller to add the Canada post credentials. The main functionality of this add-on is that it supports all the marketplace sellers which will help out the customers to get delivered the seller’s product efficiently by using the Canada Post as the shipping method. The seller from their account section on the website can easily add up their Canada Post account User Id & client number, agreement types, etc. which helps out the sellers to provide the shipping for their products & get the benefit of the shipping charges.
Supports Contract & Non-Contract Shipping
Now, when the customer adds the product into the cart and goes for the checkout, the customer can see the available list of shipping methods available from the Canada Post for the shipment with the pricing for each method. On the order review page, the customer will be able to see the shipping method that he selected, and then he can proceed to the next step for making the payment.
Once the order is confirmed then the shipping method will be visible in all the shipping and invoice slips under the Shipping method section with the Title mentioned in the configurations by the admin. Finally, the tracking information will be shared with the customer, so that the customer can track their order. The shipping rate will be calculated according to the Seller’s Origin Zip Code, Product Weight, and the Buyer’s Destination Zip Code.
Generate Canada Post Shipping Label
The seller can generate invoices for their ordered products, generate the tracking number and shipment slips, labels for the orders of their products. Even the seller can notify the customers by sending them emails, cancel/refund the order and even print the order. The admin can also create the shipment labels and process the shipment.
