Security & PCI Compliance
Adyen offers integrations that handle most of the PCI DSS requirements. At the end of Adyen, the security of data is highly important and they take security vulnerabilities very seriously. The merchant never sees and never has access to unencrypted cardholder data.
The customer is responsible for making sure that cardholder data is secure and protected before the data reaches Adyen.
If merchants are accepting credit card payments on the store, then they have to validate their PCI DSS compliance annually. Merchants can validate their compliance either by:
- Completing a Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ).
- Engaging a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) to complete a Report on Compliance (RoC).
The specific PCI DSS requirements applicable to the customer depends on how they process payments and on the Adyen integration they use.
The content of the embedded IFrames is isolated from the web page and the cardholder data is encrypted on the shopper's browser. The merchant does not have access to decryption keys, thus does not have access to the shopper’s cardholder data.
The integration is completed by using the API only method. This allows the merchant to manage the payment gateway from their end completely. The checkout process is initialized, served, and regulated from the merchant end.
The payment details are entered by the customer on the merchant site, there is no such redirection to other platforms or sites or web pages. By this, the customer does not require to wait for multiple navigations.
The payment information entered by the customer is not entered nor stored on the Magento server.
The integration matches the PCI DSS Level 1 Service Provider. In figures, it is around six million transactions annually per acquiring region, and the requirements performed are ROC and Network Scan.
It is PCI level 1 compliance, so the requirements are way more than other levels. For level 1 integration, the merchant needs to have the special compliance for Quality Security Assessor i.e. QSA on a yearly basis. Our extension does not require any SAQ level, because of a very high number of payment possibilities per year i.e. 6 Million.
