Overview
Back to topGift Card extension allows the merchant to sell eGift card vouchers from the store. A new product type will be available to the store admin for creating various gift card vouchers. A customer can buy a gift card, enter any custom message, and mention the email address where it will be sent. Once a gift card is purchased, a unique code is generated which can be redeemed at the shopping cart.
The gift card amount can be redeemed partially or fully. Moreover, the store admin can select email templates, set gift card expiry time, and view all the gift card voucher codes created with detailed information.
Business Value
Digital rewards, specifically e-gift cards, are the most effective incentive today. They can be implemented in a variety of use cases and help people to gift them to others. Gift cards have more promotional power than marketing strategies like advertisements, which have a limited lifespan. Usually, anyone can purchase these gift cards and send them to their friends, family, relatives, or anyone. With prepaid gift card amount, the receivers can purchase any item of their choice from the online store. The gift card user can use the card money all at once or use only a certain amount.

How Does The Gift Card Work?
Email Settings
After the successful installation, the admin needs to select the email templates which will be sent to the gift card receiver. The first email template will be used, when a gift card is sent. The second template is used for notifying the remaining gift card amount to the receiver. Further, the admin can set the sender’s email address and name for the gift card receiver.
Expiry Time
The admin needs to set the number of days within which the gift card must be redeemed. Once the time is expired, the gift card will become unusable on the web-store. The expiry time will be calculated as per the order date.
Creating Gift Card Voucher
To create a gift card voucher, the admin will add a new product and choose the product type as a Gift Card. After that, the admin will mention all the basic product information such as name, price, description, quantity, SKU, upload image, select category, etc.
Buying Gift Card
At the storefront, on the gift card product page, the customer enters the e-mail address of the person to whom the gift card should be sent and then click the “Add to Cart” to go for the checkout and place an order.
Email Notification
After the invoice for the order gets generated, the person (whose e-mail address is entered) will receive the gift card with a unique coupon code, sender’s name, email, description, price, expiry date, and a message.
Redeeming Gift Card
To use redeem the gift card amount, the receiver needs to login to the store with the same email address on which the gift card is received. After adding products to the shopping cart, the gift card coupon code can be applied. The gift card amount can be utilized completely or partially by entering the amount.
Example: If the customer has a gift card of $1500 worth, then he can make use of all of it or use some of the amounts like $100 and keep the rest to use at a later time.
View Gift Cards Information
The admin can view all the gift card coupon codes generated with detailed information and has an option to disable any coupon code so that it becomes unusable. The admin can view - customer’s email, receiver’s email, gift coupon code, order ID, price, remaining amount, order time, expiry time, status, is active.
