How Does The Extension Works?

For the working of this module, it is a must for the store owner, Elastic Search Engine v7.6 must be installed and running. Once the module is installed, the admin can manage and configure the module from the admin panel easily.

Managing Elasticsearch Functionality

The admin can navigate to the Elastic Search Setting and fill the required details for the working of the module. The admin can fill the required details like Host details, Port Number, Index Prefix, etc. Furthermore, the admin can check the connection status, and reset the connection as well.

Manage Search Settings

The admin has the option to choose from “Multi Match Query,” and “Simple Match Query” as a search type for the front-end. When selecting a search setting as “Multi Match Query” the customer can search the product by the attributes that are created by the admin. The attribute type must be text to perform the search query. Furthermore, if the selected search setting is “Simple Match Query” then, the Customer can search the product only by its name and SKU.

Select Search Filter

The admin can modify the search term provided by a customer using the token filter. There are four types of search filters available that the admin can use - Synonym Filter, Elision Filter, Lowercase Filter, and Stop Word Filter.

Select Language Stemmer

The admin needs to select the correct Language Stemmer according to the Magento 2 store language. In this way, the customer will be able to search only in the English language.

Select Character Search Filter

The admin can use the character search filters that are used to remove the unwanted characters from the search input by a customer. Theses filters are of three types - HTML Strip Char Filter, Mapping Filter, and Pattern Replace Filter.

Index Management

The admin can use the index management to update the status of the index. The index needs to be updated whenever a new product is added to the store. Moreover, the admin can also use the command lines to update a large number of data.

Did You Mean

The module also has a feature called "Did you mean" which allows customers to search for products if they have entered the wrong product name. So, this feature will indicate all products with the same product name in the vicinity.

The admin can also set the spell correction by which the Elastic Search Engine automatically corrects keywords even if they are typed incorrectly by the Customer. The admin may choose token filters to modify the search term provided by the Customer.
