Chat System extension allows the store owner to set up live chat messaging in its store. The customers can do real-time conversation with the chat agents. The customers can use chat system for receiving immediate answers for their questions. The admin can create different chat agents who can handle and reply to the customers from the backend.

Using the chat system, a customer will get the required information faster as compared to an email or support ticket. The chat system extension automatically assigns customers to the available chat agents accordingly. Every chat agent will have an even number of customers. The chat system allows the agents to do chatting with multiple customers at same time.

Note: - There is no 3rd party extension used in this module.

Use Case of Chat System -

With the help of chat system extension, the store owner can serve its customers better. So, instead of sending an email or creating a support ticket, the customers can now resolve their issues or doubts by using the chat communication platform. Since the chat system allows the customers to send and receive messages instantaneously. The customer can quickly log in from the chat window, send a message to the available chat agent and receive the answer. The queries can be of any kind such as pre-sale inquiries, after-sales support, or anything related to the products.

Workflow of Chat System -

After doing the module installation successfully, go to backend admin panel for configuration. Navigate through Stores>Configuration>Chat System Configuration.

First, you need to do the server the settings, where you have to enter the hostname and port number. Set a name for chat system and upload image file for the profile. Click Start Server to make chat system live.

Second, if you want to do color customization for admin & user chat windows. Select colors for chat window header, text, list or background.

Third, you need to create chat agents by navigating through System>All Users>Add New User. After entering the user details, select ChatSystem option in User Role.

Now, when a logged in user sends a new message, that user will be assigned to any available chat agent. From the backend, the assigned agent will get a pop-up message on the screen and answer the query.

It allows the store owner to serve its customers better by responding to their queries promptly. The admin can even add different agents for efficiently managing the customer queries. The admin can view the complete chat history conversation of the chat system.

Users Benefits - 

The customer receives immediate replies for their queries. They can even change their chat status as - online, offline, busy. They can even view the name of the assigned chat agent. From My Account section, the customers can also view the chat conversation history.
