Chat System extension allows you to set up live chat messaging functionality for the web-store. With chat system, the customer can communicate in real-time with the store owner or agent. The customer can use the chat system for receiving immediate answers to the questions. The admin can create different chat agents who can handle and reply to the customer queries from the store backend.

Use Case of Chat System :

With the help of chat system extension, the store owner can serve its customers better and faster. Because, instead of sending an email or creating a support ticket, the customer can now resolve the issue or pre-sale doubts by chatting with the store owner directly. The chat system allows the customer and store owner to send and receive messages on a real-time basis.


Features of Chat System :

  • The customer can do quick login & registration from the chat window.

  • The admin can create various chat agents for managing the queries.

  • Users and agents can view their chat history conversation.

  • The admin can view the complete chat history of the users & agents.

  • Chat agents can view & reply to multiple customer queries at once.

Work Flow of Chat System :

After doing the module installation, go to backend admin panel for configuration. Navigate through Stores>Configuration>Chat System Configuration.

First, you need to do the server the settings, where you have to enter the hostname and port number. Set a name for chat system and upload image file for the profile. Click Start Server button to make chat system live.

Second, if you want to do color customization for admin and user chat windows. Select colors for chat window header, text, list or background.

Third, you need to create chat agents by navigating through System>All Users>Add New User. After entering the user details, select ChatSystem option in User Role.

Now, when a logged in user sends any new message, that user will be assigned to any available chat agent. From the backend, the assigned agent will get a pop-up message on the screen and answer the query.


Benefits of Chat System :


It allows the store owner to serve its customers better by responding to their queries promptly. The admin can even add different agents for efficiently managing the customer queries. The admin can view the complete chat history conversation of the chat system.


The customer receives immediate replies to the queries. The customer can even change the chat status as - online, offline, or busy. From My Account section, the customer can also view the chat conversation history.
