Overview
Back to topWhen talking about the shopping experience, it's important to offer extra product suggestions in time. Also Viewed Products is the module for Magento 2 that will do that for you.
With this module, you don't need to spend time preparing complicated rules or relations. Just install the module and that's it. Also Viewed Products extension works for your site already and thoroughly explores customer’s activity. It will offer relevant recommendations for each product soon, based on other customer's interests. You may choose one of the following scenarios to use:
- Offer per product alternatives at the product page
- Offer per customer product suggestions at the category, or any other page
- And, of course, you can use both blocks too
Features
- Control how the module shows recommendations:
- For currently viewed product only
- For the items in the shopping cart
- For the recently viewed products
- For the recently compared products
- Display product recommendations block anywhere at your site:
- Product page tabs (Via configuration)
- Category page (Widget)
- Shopping Cart Page (Widget)
- Any other page (Widget)
- Add multiple blocks with different recommendation strategies:
- Recommend for the currently viewed product at product page tabs
- Recommend for the items in the shopping cart at the shopping cart page
- Recommend for the recently viewed and compared products at the home and category pages
How Does It Work?
When a client views different products, the module creates relations between them. The module does that for each visitor. Then, the module indexes these relations and calculates the “weight” score by relation popularity. Day by day, relations count grows and they become more accurate.
Bots?
Bots will not affect relations accuracy. All popular web spiders are already added to the ignore list. You may view and change it at the module configuration page. Additionally, you can add specific IP addresses into the ignoring list too.
Can I Control Relations?
Yes. You can change relation sort order or even disable relation to hiding it from the front end.
Where Can I Place Block?
You can add it to product tabs with extension configuration, or place it at any other page with the widget. Popular places for “People with similar interests also viewed” block:
- Product page tabs or sidebar (Recommend alternatives for the current product)
- Below product listing on the category page (Recommend suggestions for recently viewed products)
- Homepage
- If you are using a third-party “Tabs” module, take a look at our documentation. Maybe we have instructions for you already.
Configuration
There are two configuration sections available: “Product Page Tabs Integration” and “Log settings”.
