Back to top“News” is an extension developed by V Group Inc. This allows the sellers to display News and Events on their website. The extension can be applied on any page of the site. It also offers the flexibility to be applied on any area on the body of the page. The extension can be used to display Press releases and Events in horizontal or vertical layout. The News extension can be easily integrated by adding a short code on any page of the website.
Once the News widget is installed on the site, it will display headline of each news along with the publish date, and a brief description of the news. Each news article will have a ‘View More’ link that would navigate the visitor to a page that has the detailed description of the news along with images and videos. The extension can also be configured to display the number of news articles in the News widget. The extension also has a feature to auto-rotate the news articles.
The extension also works with Magento accounts that have multiple stores.
Sellers who have their press articles listed in the e-magazines can provide the information by displaying it on the site. Companies and Organizations who have product launches, trade show events, interviews with celebrities, activities related towards charity and donations, contributions made towards protecting environment, official announcements, notification of educational courses and schedules etc., will find this extension extremely helpful. Companies that focus on brand promotion or are in the process of setting up a brand presence will also find this extension as a very helpful tool.
Sellers will have the ability to add and update the news from an interface from the Magento backend. The news items would appear chronologically on the page. The News extension also has the ability to import and export the news from the Magento admin.

- Unlimited News: News extension provides the ability to add unlimited news content (text and images) to the site.
- Import/Export News: Seller can import and export news content in bulk through csv file from Magento dashboard. The extension accepts valid image URLs during import and the URL of the images appear in the export file.
- View News: On the News listing page, users can see a limited content of the news. Users can further click on the news to view the full content on the News detail page.
- Supports Multiple Stores: The News extension also works for multiple stores set up in Magento, and each store can have its own set of News.
- Share on Social Media: User can share the news on their social accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, etc.
- News widget: The extension has a widget that can be added on any page of the Magento site. Sellers can configure to display the number of news to appear on the widget. The widget will display short description and a ‘read more’ link that would navigate to a page that will have the full description of the news. The extension also has an option to auto-rotate the News in the widget.
- Manage Category: This interface allows the sellers to categorize news. Sellers can add/edit/delete News categories. While creating new news, seller can select and assign it to the existing category/ies. Seller also has the ability to define the URL of the category. The news will appear categorized on the News landing page. By default the news will be assigned to ‘All News’ category. On the news landing page, the news can also be filtered by category.
