Hacking of sites is still a hot topic in a web world. Different bots like spam bots, crawlers and spiders may steal credit cards numbers, personal information and bring a malware to your online store. Your site performance is under threat. Once users stop trusting your store they will hardly come back. Keep them out! If you see fake accounts or registration or simply want to make sure your website is prevented from spam, you can secure it.
Start with our module as effective approach to increase overall security in your website.
The Magento Bot Protection extension is fighting with hacking bots by allowing you to blacklist IP addresses. Built in whitelist option allows you to avoid banning good Google and Bing bots.
How the module works?
Our extension uses different ways to identify a bot. The module checks user agent of a visitor, sets honeypots invisible for human, and controls the visitor activity.
Bot Protection provides you with two default response pages.
The first is shown for blacklisted visitors, the other one is shown for users who have to confirm they are human.
*The visitors from blacklist will see the “Access denied” page with response code 403 (Forbidden)
*The users from suspicious list will be forced to solve CAPTCHA to attest they are human.
Both response pages can be edited in Magento backend via CMS interface.
Log Visitors functionality
Bot Protection extension is based on the default Magento Log Visitors functionality. Thus you have nice opportunity to control a number of additional logs and to detect bots and crawlers faster.
Via module configuration you may predetermine the time frame to analyse users activity. You can also set up the allowed number of clicks by the same visitor within appropriate time range. In case of approved detection the user will be redirected to suspicious list response page where he should confirm he is a human with Captcha field.
With Bot Protection settings you can enable up to three actions that will be applied to all visitors who are detected as bots.
*Add to Blacklist - users will be blocked immediately
*Confirm Human - users will be added to suspicious list. They have to solve Captcha before continuing browse your store.
*Add to Suspicious List - visitors will be determined as suspicious. They should neither solve captcha and no be blocked. Your store admin has to decide what to do with such users.
