Featured Categories Widget extension allows the administrator to easily display categories with their names & images on any CMS page. This extension is highly customizable as it provides flexible customization options using which the administrator can create specific display conditions. The category collection is matched with these conditions and a grid is rendered showing all the matching categories on a CMS page sorted by position.

- Widget: Featured Categories Widget provides a widget, the administrator can make use of this functionality and easily add numerous category widgets on the website.
- Conditions: Featured Categories Widget can be used to display categories based on conditions. Using this functionality the administrator can set up a combination of sophisticated conditions to display categories on the homepage. This widget also supports custom attributes that the developers have added which are not provided by default.
- Pre-added Category Attributes: This widget provides pre-added easy to use category attributes “Featured” and “Featured Image” that can be used to create the condition for showing featured categories on the home page.
- Featured Image: By default, the category image is supposed to be a banner image that is visible on the top of the product grid. This extension also provides a featured image to be uploaded within a category that will be visible on the category widget grid. This feature allows the administrator to upload a separate thumbnail image for a subcategory that is visible on the grid.
- Limit Category Count: By using the Featured Categories Widget, the administrator will have an ability to limit the number of categories displayed on the storefront.
- Performance: Keeping performance under consideration, Featured Categories Widget a cache lifetime option in the administrative panel to cache the category widget using the default cache mechanism.
- Placeholder: Featured Categories Widget provides an option for the administrator to upload the default placeholder image that can be used instead of the provided default placeholder image.
