Overview

Varnish Cache is a web application accelerator that speeds up your website by caching your website contents. Varnish Cache sits in front of your Magento website and tries to respond to your customer requests with this content.

Varnish Cache immediately improves page load times which consistently leads to more product page views, more cart conversions, and increased revenue. In addition, caching content requires less work from your servers which reduces your server costs, and also allows your site to better handle an increase in traffic.

Varnish Cache is required for Magento 2 and Section has created the first extension for Magento 2 that allows you to get set up with Varnish Cache directly from the Magento admin portal, making it the fastest way to implement a Magento 2-optimized version of Varnish Cache.

Section is the only website performance, scalability and security solution which gives Magento developers complete control over configuration, testing, and global deployment of Varnish Cache and other web enhancement tools.

Unlike legacy CDNs, who lock speed and security tools in fixed networks, Section provides a user-friendly Edge Compute Platform for developers to create a customized web performance and security composition for their Magento site.

Using Section, leading Magento sites to build better websites that deliver faster pages and increased e-commerce revenue.

Section Features:

  • Global Edge Network: We use multiple networks from different service providers to provide reliability & low latency routing of your application traffic. We offer HTTP/2, TLS/ HTTPS, and a PCI-compliant infrastructure.
  • Development Environment: Build your Magento application code with a binary equivalent of our production infrastructure running in your development environment. Test your Magento application code against your edge configuration in development before pushing changes to your live production site to prevent incidents and downtime.
  • Logs and Metrics: Gain visibility to diagnose and troubleshoot problems using the tools you already know like Kibana logs and Graphite metrics. With Kibana, you get a request/response level of granularity in real-time. With Graphite, you get aggregate visualization to answer questions around application performance.
  • Source Controlled: Use normal development lifecycle workflows to make and track changes over time. Each application has its own Git repository, and each branch is a separate environment. A commit to the upstream repository triggers a deployment to your application.
  • Varnish Cache: Add Varnish Cache to your Section account to increase your Magento page load performance. Unlike legacy CDNs, Section's Edge Compute Platform lets you choose which version of Varnish Cache you want to run. We also let you set up advanced configurations using Varnish Control Language (VCL).
  • ModSecurity: Add ModSecurity to your Section application to protect your Magento site from attacks. We allow you to easily set up a Website Application Firewall (WAF) with OWASP configured ruleset out of the box.
