Overview

Peakhour provides a website acceleration service that can optimize and cache content on its global ANYCast network. We integrate mod page speed so images can be automatically resized and recompressed,  Javascript/CSS/HTML minified, zipped and much much more. Our global CDN can also cache dynamic content and can be customized for different sections of your site using powerful page rules.

Peakhour is also a security service with an integrated WAF (Web Application Firewall). Our WAF uses rulesets from OWASP, Trustwave, and Atomicorp, to block common attacks and virtually patch applications (like Magento). It also uses leading blocklists to protect your site.

The service only requires a DNS update and operates transparently without needing changes to the origin server. Dramatically cut load times for your clients and reduce requests to your origin server, leaving it free to process important requests, like customer checkouts.

The Peakhour extension utilises Magento 2's built in full page cache functionality and integrates with our API to provide a seamless experience when editing content within the Magento admin. Pages, Products and Categories will be automatically flushed from our network, ensuring your client gets only the latest content.

Website speed is critically important to ecommerce stores. Page load times are strongly correlated to bounce rates, session length, and conversions, as well as being a factor in Google rankings. A fully featured sales platform like Magento is slow out of the box and needs a caching solution to realize its potential. With faster load times and reduced server load, you can serve more customers, make more sales and reduce server costs.

Features

  • Content optimization: Optimize your site content using mod page speed. A wide range of optimizations is available with 3 sensible preset levels.
  • Free dedicated SSL: When you place your website behind the Peakhour service we will automatically encrypt your traffic using a free, dedicated (specific for your domain name) SSL Certificate from Let's Encrypt. You also have the option of uploading your own SSL certificate free of charge.
  • WAF: Fully featured web application firewall with blacklist/whitelist, rulesets, and block lists.
  • Transparent Global CDN: Cache static assets and even dynamic content with only a DNS change.
  • Rate Limiting: Slow access to login pages or any other important section of your site.
  • Multi origin: Transparently serve content from multiple geographic servers from the same domain.
  • HTTP/2: All content is served over HTTP/2 for faster loading even if your origin server doesn't support it.
  • ANYCast DNS: Host your DNS on our Anycast servers ensuring your requests come from the closest geographic server. Add an extra level of reliability as any server in our network can service a request.
  • Serve Stale Content: Continue serving stale content if your origin website is down.
  • Custom error pages: Serve your own error pages if your origin is down.

Extension Features

  • Integrates with built in Full Page Cache:
  • Automatic Flushing: Automatically flush products/categories/cms pages and associated URLs from the Peakhour CDN when editing through the Magento admin.
  • Manual Flushing: Flush URLs by wildcard pattern or purge the entire Peakhour cache instantly from with the Magento admin
