An exension for Magento 2 that processes payments through the Monetra payment software
OverviewBack to top
The Monetra Payments extension for Magento 2 allows you to easily and securely configure your Magento 2 instance to process payments through a Monetra server. If your company runs a Monetra server or uses a hosted Monetra-based solution, you can use this extension to integrate Monetra with your Magento store and avoid sensitive credit card data ever being sent to your web server. Monetra is available as a standalone software product or as a service/gateway offering. Pricing can vary depending on a multitude of factors, including enabled features and transaction allotments. Small business packages start at $895. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on pricing or click here.
Monetra is a fast, efficient and secure payment processing application created by Main Street Softworks, Inc. It includes a protocol (called the Client Ticket Request POST protocol) that allows for credit card data to be sent directly to a Monetra instance via a POST request. In response, Monetra will issue a "ticket" associated with the submitted card data. The ticket can then be used (for a limited period of time) to run credit card transactions, in lieu of actual card data. This process allows web applications (such as your Magento store) to process credit card payments without ever having sensitive card data pass through the web server.
How Does the Monetra Payments Extension Work?
The Monetra Payments extension provides a payment method that can be enabled and configured in the Magento admin interface. The payment method, called Monetra Client Ticket Request, implements Monetra's Client Ticket Request POST protocol. At the end of the checkout process, it stops the default form submission and submits the customer's payment data to the configured Monetra server in a POST request (only the required payment information is sent to Monetra; other fields such as shipping and contact information are not sent). When the Monetra server responds with the generated ticket, the ticket is submitted along with the rest of the checkout form data (except for the sensitive card information) to your Magento server. On the server side, the extension then sends the transaction to the Monetra server, passing along the ticket instead of the user's card data.
