Overview

MerchantE is a financial technology company that provides a full suite of financial services that drives digital commerce and supports the money management needs of growing businesses. Our end-to-end payment processing platform helps B2B and B2C companies maximize their ecommerce businesses with integrated solutions that enable acceptance of credit, debit and prepaid payment cards, foreign currency and more. The name you can trust for payment acceptance now brings you more services to grow your business and improve cash flow.

The Payment Acceptance with MerchantE extension for Magento enables merchants to process payment cards right within the Magento Checkout and Invoice flows, including payments, refunds and pre-authorizations. We offer secure options that include our in-browser tokenization technology (Transparent Redirect API) or a full redirect to a checkout page hosted by MerchantE (Hosted Checkout). Either option prevents cardholder data from touching your systems, which reduces scope of PCI compliance and provides a reliable layer of security.

The MerchantE extension is a secure, robust solution for merchants of all sizes, from small businesses to global eCommerce enterprises. For businesses that conduct B2B and B2G commerce, we offer the Interchange Optimization Savings Program for eligible transactions (Level II/III processing). We support a wide range of customer needs including multi-currency payment processing, PCI, Tokenization, flexible reporting, and more.

Security

MerchantE adheres to the highest standards of compliance as a PCI-validated Level 1 Service Provider that completes the SSAE-18 SOC 1 assessment annually. We are also an active participating organization on the PCI Security Standards Council.

MerchantE uses HSTS web security technique to enforce encrypted internet traffic, and all internet connections enforce TLS 1.2 at a minimum with a preference for Perfect Forward Secrecy (PFS) cipher suites. We maintain an A+ rating from SSL Labs and all cardholder data is encrypted at rest using strong cryptography.

MerchantE maintains redundant connectivity to multiple Tier 1 Internet Service Providers. All processing systems and data are contained within fully redundant, US-based, geographically dispersed data centers.

When Hosted Checkout is enabled (Redirect), the customer is redirected to the MerchantE secure website to enter their sensitive card details. The credit card is processed at the MerchantE endpoint. Only the result of the transaction is sent back to Magento. When Hosted Checkout is disabled, an API call is made to MerchantE for the full card number to be tokenized and the token and expiration date are sent back to Magento. The full card number never touches the Magento environment.

If your business is ecommerce-only, exclusively using the MerchantE extension in Magento for customer-entered payments, you will be eligible for the SAQ A , the shortest version of the PCI compliance questionnaire. If you accept payments in any other channel or if your employees enter payments into Magento, you will likely be required to complete a more extensive SAQ.
