Overview

How quickly do you deliver your store orders? What is your shipping charge? Is your shipping reliable? How many delivery options do you offer? Shipping service management has a large impact on the user experience that you offer and how efficiently the orders are managed.

You need to have a sound system for shipping price management in your Magento 2 store for smooth functioning. Meetanshi offers Shipping Table Rates for Magento 2 to help the admin calculate and charge shipping prices based on various factors like Shipping Destinations, Product Weight, Price, and Quantity.

How Does The Extension Work?

The extension facilitates a backend grid for the admin to add and manage methods to import shipping table rates. The admin enters the method details, activates it, sets the method priority, selects the calculation action, store views, customer groups, and uploads a CSV to import the shipping rates. After importing the shipping rates, the admin configures the shipping method. He sets the method title, selects the countries to allow using the method, adds an error message to display in the frontend for the method unavailability.

The admin also configures the options to allow free shipping promotions, ignore price and quantity of virtual products, to allow numeric zip codes in CSV, use price after the discount is deducted, use price inclusive of tax, and to use only one shipping type for the method. The extension allows creating shipping type attribute. The admin can create values for the attribute and assign the shipping type to the products to calculate the shipping rates.

In the frontend, when a user adds a product to the cart, the shipping table rate method is shown if available. On selection, shipping charges are calculated, applied and displayed in the subtotal on the cart page. Shipping charge also gets displayed in order summary on the checkout page. The customer can check the shipping table rates under Shipping Method in the My Account section after the order is placed using the method. The admin can check the shipping method and charge details in the order view section in the backend.
