Overview

Offering a seamless experience for online customers is quite essential when crafting an e-commerce website. You have to make sure your site is engaging and optimized for your buyer’s journey. Your payment experience is an important aspect here. The last thing you want is for your customers to get all the way to the checkout and leave the page because of the unavailability of the convenient payment method. Multiple payment options imply greater convenience for the shoppers and more sales for the store! However, it costs the admin to provide these payment facilities which they balance in the product prices by adding the payment provider fees to them. It turns out to be pricey products! Again not good for the sale. Meetanshi has developed Payment Fee for Magento 2 that allows the admin to pass on the payment fee to the customers transparently without adding it to the product prices.

The more payment options, the more payment provider fees for the facility. The admin is required to pay for these payment methods integration. To overcome it, the options are to increase the product prices or directly pass on the payment fees to the customers. The latter is feasible for the business. The Payment Fee extension for Magento 2 allows charging payment provider fees transparently by adding a separate fee with the title to the order subtotal.

Offer different payment options and charge their fees to customers. When a user selects one of the payment options, its fee is labeled and charged separately with the price. Create as many payment fees and configure it based on different conditions such as customer groups, etc.

Features:

Manage product prices in spite of offering multiple payment options by charging payment fees to customers for using them. Offer payment method such as Paypal, cash on delivery, bank transfer, etc. and charge each of its payment fees to customers transparently.
A customized label can be set to display on selecting a particular payment method, using the variable. Example: Set a label as "Payment Fee [Fee]". When a payment method is selected, it will show "Paypal Payment Fee $10".
Allow payment fees refund when a customer requests for order refund.
Admin can charge tax on the payment fee and display the fee inclusive or exclusive of taxes.
Admin can apply tax on payment fees by selecting the applicable tax class.
The extension offers 3 options to choose 1 payment fee display type:
- Excluding Tax
- Including Tax
- Including and Excluding Tax
Create an unlimited number of Payment fees for specific customer groups and store views from the backend.
Charge payment fee either in a fixed amount or in the percentage of the product price.

How Does the Extension Work?

The admin can enable the extension along with the option to refund the payment fees while refunding the orders according to the business requirements.

He can also enable applying the tax on payment fee, select the applicable tax class, and select the display option.

The admin can make sure to assign the same tax class as selected in the "Set Tax Class for Payment Fee" under the "Tax Settings" to the products, to calculate tax on payment fee.

The admin can add and manage the payment fees or add multiple payment fees with the "Add New Fee" button from the backend grid "Manage Payment Fees".

While adding a new payment fee, the admin can enter the title, enable the status, enter the fee amount, select fee type, select the payment methods, store views, and customer group to apply payment fees on.

Once configured, the customer can see the additional payment fee on selecting a particular payment option from the front end.

The customers can also check the payment fee details from the "My Account" section.

The admin can also check the payment fee details from the Order view in the backend.
