To commence using Lipa Na M-Pesa Payment, create a FREE merchant account in M-Pesa. Integrate Magento 2 store with the payment gateway using the API key details received during the registration. Contact the company to know the various pricing plans of the payment gateway.
How Does The Extension Work?
The admin can enable the extension to integrate the Magento 2 store with Lipa Na M-Pesa payment gateway. The admin can set a custom title for the payment method, display its logo at the checkout, and enable the sandbox mode if required. The admin can use the shortCode, Consumer Key, Consumer Secret, and Pass Key obtained while registration with M-Pesa to integrate the Magento 2 store with the payment gateway. Also, he has to enter the URL for Request Payment, access token URL, and register URL. He can allow only selected countries to use the payment method, enable the debug mode if required, and set custom text to display additional instructions at the checkout.
When a customer selects this payment method at the checkout, he has to enter the M-Pesa phone number, confirm the payment from the phone, and click the "Place Order" button for successful order placement.
The customers can check their payment details from the "My Account" section. The admin can also check the customers' payment details from the Sales order view section at the backend.
Security & PCI Compliance:
Using the Lipa Na M-Pesa Payment method, whenever customers add products to cart and proceed to checkout, they have to enter the M-Pesa phone number and confirm the payments from the phone. The whole payment process does not require the customers' card details to be entered or stored on the Magento 2 server and thus it ensures a secure payment process. The integration meets the SAQ A level of PCI Compliance.
