Overview

Facebook must be your first go-to platform if you are thinking of leveraging social media platforms for the E-commerce business. The below statistics shows why:

  • There are more than 65 million businesses using Facebook Pages and more than six million advertisers actively promoting their business on Facebook - Buffer
  • 2.41 billion monthly active users as of the second quarter of 2019 - Statista

As a Magento 2 store owner, you may not want to miss this business opportunity. And to make it easier, Meetanshi has developed Facebook Store Integration for Magento 2.

The module allows synchronizing the Magento 2 store products with the Facebook shop. By doing so, facilitate the visitors to view the product details on Facebook itself and visit the store to the cart where the product is already added. Thus, making the shopping smooth and quick!

Account & Pricing

To commence using this extension, you need to sign up for a FREE Facebook Business account. It doesn't require any additional fees. Refer Facebook Help Page for further details.

How Does The Extension Work?

The admin configures the module to offer the Magento 2 store products in Facebook shop. For that, he generates product CSV manually to upload in Facebook store and enable the option to generate CSV for all products and ignore product attribute selection if required. He also has the option to generate CSV based on the store view. Or, set frequency and time for periodic CSV generation. The admin opts for the out of stock product from CSV, apply catalog rules on product price, remove pub folder from media URL, add product URL to redirect URL to the product page instead of checkout cart URL, display product price with VAT/TAX, and add product special price.

The admin sets the Google category for the store products using category ID or name based on the Google Product Taxonomy.

For a specific product, the admin enables to display it in the Facebook shop, set its product condition, and the Google product category.

The admin uses the mass action to bulk update the Facebook product status from the "Products" grid. The Facebook store attributes like Facebook Shop Product, Product Condition, and Google Product Category can be bulk updated.

The admin updates Facebook store attributes for multiple products using “Update Attributes” mass action.

The admin creates a new mapping for some of the required Facebook fields with Magento 2 attributes and can do so using the "Add New Mapping" button. The admin can refer to the "Facebook Attribute Mapping" grid for the list of required fields.

The admin adds new attribute code to create the mapping for the required fields for which the module cannot create the mapping by selecting the Facebook attribute code and the Magento attribute code.

The admin checks the details of product CSV logs like start date, finish date, triggered by, product Ids, status, and message in a separate backend grid named "Product Feed CSV Log". The “download” action column allows to download CSV file.

The admin follows the below steps to upload the product CSV to Facebook:

  1. Open “Settings” in Facebook page
  2. Enable the “Shop” tab from “Templates and tabs” option
  3. Select “Shop” option from “More” tab in Facebook page
  4. Agree to Seller’s Terms and Policies and click “Continue”
  5. Select checkout method for the Facebook store products
  6. Select the currency for the Facebook store product display.
  7. Add at least one product manually, in your Facebook shop for the “Manage Catalogue” button to appear.
  8. Enter the details for the sample product
  9. Now, click on the “Manage Your Catalogue” button to import bulk products using CSV.
  10. Select “Data Sources” from “Catalogue Manager” and click on “Add products” button
  11. Select “Use bulk upload” option under “Data Sources” to upload CSV for adding products
  12. Select “File Upload” option to upload the CSV and click “Next”
  13. Upload the products CSV file that we’ve downloaded from Extension's "Product feed CSV log" and click "Next" button once uploaded successfully.
  14. Name your data source, select currency, and click "upload" button
  15. Check the overview of the products and products under "Item" tab
  16. Set schedule for the product feed update

Once configured, the users can see the products under "Shop" tab of the Facebook page, which when clicked, product details are shown in the popup. When users click the "Check out on Website" button, they are redirected to the product page on the Magento 2 store.

The admin enables Instagram shopping if the business resides under the approved regions to use the shoppable Instagram facility.

The admin follows the below steps to configure Instagram shopping:

  1. Open "Settings" from the Instagram account
  2. Navigate to Business > Shopping
  3. Enable Facebook Catalogue
  4. Select the image and click "Tag Products"
  5. Select product from the catalogue to tag with the image
  6. Tap on the image to open the catalogue and select a product to tag

Once configured, the users can view the tagged products and click "View on website" button to get redirected to the product page on the Magento 2 store.
