    Cloud backup is something that no business or individual should miss out on so as to not lose any important data accidentally.Backing up your business data to cloud storage can be a blessing in case of data loss. Hence, Meetanshi has developed Cloud Backup for Magento 2 extension.

    The module allows the admin to backup Magento 2 store to Google Drive or Dropbox cloud storage automatically or manually.Schedule automated backup of Magento 2 store to cloud at a set time and frequency or manually run the backup. Only with Cloud Backup for Magento 2 extension!

    Note: For the Cloud Backup for Magento 2 extension to work for your store, first, you need to enable the default Magento 2 backup option.

    To commence using the Cloud Backup extension with Google Drive, you need to create a FREE online account in Google and enter the Client ID and Client Secret in Magento 2 store configuration section for the API integration. The company offers various pricing plans for Google Drive cloud storage.

    To commence using the Cloud Backup extension with Dropbox, you need to create a FREE online account in Dropbox and enter the access token in Magento 2 store configuration section for the API integration. The company offers various pricing plans for Dropbox cloud storage.

     

    Features:

    • Backup your Magento 2 store so as to not lose important data accidentally.
    • The module supports 4 types of backups:
      • Magento 2 backup database
      • Database and media
      • Magento 2 system backup
      • System backup excluding media
    • The admin can choose one of the database backup format in case of database backup type:
      • Do not pack DB file
      • Pack file by GZ compressor
    • Option to run a manual backup from the admin panel
    • Backup your Magento 2 store to:
    • For backup to Google Drive, use the Client ID, Client Secret, Redirect URL, and Client Token obtained from here for integrating Magento 2 and Google Drive.
    • Integrate Dropbox and Magento with the access token.
    • Set the frequency of Magento auto cloud backup as:
      • Daily
      • Weekly
      • Monthly
    • Configure the start time in hh:mm:ss for Magento 2 backup
    • The admin can enable the maintenance mode while ongoing backup
    • Configure the directory path to exclude it from the backup
    • Configure the Database Table Ignore List to exclude it from the backup
    • The admin can configure the extension to receive email notifications on successful backup, upload to drive, and deletion of old files when allowed from the backend.
    • For email notifications, configure the Email ID, select Email sender, and Email template.
    • Option to delete old backups in the Magento 2 store.
    • For that, configure the number of days after which to delete the old backup.

     

    How Does the Extension Work?

    The admin can enable the extension to backup Magento 2 store to cloud storage. For that, he can select the backup type, backup format in case of database backup type, or run a manual backup from the backend.

    The admin can select Google Drive or Dropbox to backup Magento 2 store data to it. In the case of Google Drive, he can integrate Magento 2 with Google Drive using the Client ID, Client Secret, Redirect URL, and Client Token obtained from here. For integrating Dropbox and Magento 2, he can use the access token.

    The admin can configure the auto cloud backup settings by selecting the frequency, setting the start time, and enabling the maintenance mode while ongoing backup if required.

    The admin can also configure the directory paths and Database Tables to be excluded during the Magento 2 store backup.

    The admin can opt for Email notifications on successful backup, upload to drive, and deletion of old files when allowed from the backend. For that, he can configure the Email ID, Email Sender, and Email Template.

    He can enable the option to delete old backups after a set number of days.

    Once configured and backed up, the backup files can be seen in Google Drive or Dropbox.

    The admin can also check the Email for successful backup upload to cloud storage.
