    Isn’t it of primary importance to make the product pages easier searched for? Eliminating a large number of root categories makes product pages easier accessible by the search engine bots and, consequently, the online searchers. Example: You’ll be able to transform:

    • http://example.com/men/tops-men/jackets-men/proteus-fitness-jackshirt.html into
    • http://example.com/jackets-men/proteus-fitness-jackshirt.html by cutting off the parent category ‘men’.

    Note that any number of parent categories will be eliminated except for the one that is first before the product, i.e., ‘jackets-men’ sub-category in the example above. 

     

    Shortened Category Page URLs: Easy Navigation

    Comes the time when the number of offerings in your Magento 2 store expands, just as the number of categories. Shortened category URLs make your site easier to navigate, avoid confusing URLs, and make them look more logical. That’s not to mention the SEO aspect ― the search engine spiders get to crawl such pages much more willingly. Example: You’ll be able to transform:

    • http://example.com/new-arivals/sale/men/tops-men/jackets-men.html into
    • http://example.com/jackets-men.html by cutting off the categories ‘men’ and ‘tops-men’, thus decreasing the link length.

     

    Smart URLs Optimization: NO URL Duplicates

    To ensure conflicts between short URLs and the ones already in the system do not take place, the extension creates a possibility to run internal checks before generating short URLs. It makes duplicate URLs creation impossible. With the extension, you get to:

    • rollback shortened URLs as may be required;
    • promptly mass edit conflict URLs in a separate grid.
