Shipping Rules by Mageplaza is an ideal and urgent solution for Magento stores. As online stores are growing steadily, there are more and more orders to fulfill. The problem store owners have to confront is that the default shipping methods of Magento 2 no longer have maximum efficiency to help them handle the diversity of orders. Magento 2 provides multiple shipping methods but is not flexible enough for store owners to create any extra shipping rules which would make it easier to deliver a large number of orders with different requirements.

Mageplaza Shipping Rules extension allows online store owners to add unlimited shipping rules based on different conditions of products, shopping cart attributes, and particular purchasing situations. Admins can set fixed shipping rates for specific cart attributes such as subtotal, product weight, or quantity and particular item attributes such as color and category.

Features

  • Add unlimited rules to available shipping methods
  • Calculate custom shipping cost based on products or total quantity
  • Specify the time frame for shipping rates
  • Make shipping rates visible
  • Well compatible with Mageplaza One Step Checkout

Problems & Solutions

Operational cost optimization

The default Magento 2 only supports fixed shipping methods which come in a selection list. Meanwhile, sometimes the product weight or product attributes can increase the shipping cost, which is a burden for online businesses. With the Mageplaza Shipping Rules extension, they can easily set rules to change the fee depending on item conditions, shopping cart total, or specific product attributes. This helps stores overcome shipping cost problems and optimize their operational cost.

Promotional campaigns

In case online stores want to implement promotional strategies through shipping fee discounts, it will be impossible if using the default Magento 2. Mageplaza Shipping Rules extension allows stores to set shipping fee rules for time periods, so for instance, they can create programs on Christmas or Easter with ease. Besides, it is possible for admins to select customer groups to apply the promotions, which helps each campaign reach the target customers effectively.

Highlight Features

Add Unlimited Rules To Shipping Methods

Interestingly, additional shipping rules can be applied easily to shipping methods of Federal Express, DHL, Best Way, Flat Rate, Free Shipping, United Parcel Service, United States Postal Service. Store admins set a new shipping rule based on the new conditions and selected cart price rules. The validity of new conditions for shipping rules depends on the application of configured cart price rules to customers' purchasing. Those specific conditions can be the combination of product attributes, product subselection, and product unification. For instance, a shipping rule applies to carts whose shipping country is Vietnam and whose total weight is 50 kgs.

Calculate Custom Shipping Cost

When customers purchasing satisfy activated conditions, more following actions will be with the orders. First, store owners can re-calculate shipping fees, add or deduct an extra fee. Second, the shipping fee for the cart can be set based on the percentage of cart total, fixed amount, and percentage of the original shipping fee. And finally, the shipping fee for chosen items can be set based on the percentage of the product price, fixed amount, and the fixed amount with each weight unit. The shipping rates for each order depend on the actions which are already configured for shipping rules.

Specify Time Frame For Shipping Rates

At the backend, store admins can set a specific time for new shipping rules to apply to customers' orders. The rules will be activated automatically during the valid time. Besides, this feature would be for promotion improvement. A campaign, for example, 5$ applied to every order on Black Friday.

Make Shipping Rates Visible

The shipping rates can be visible in-store views options such as all store views, main website or default store view and to customer groups (general, wholesaler, or retailer). This feature is great support for store owners when they devise a shipping fee strategy aiming at separate target customer groups.
