Overview

Admin Menu & Config Search Extension for Magento 2 allows you to search through all the available Menu links & Store configuration links. It will be very easy for Merchants, Site Administrators and other users of the Backend to quickly get to the links without knowing under which Menu or Submenu it resides.

When the website grows larger and larger with a lot of customizations, developers tend to add many extensions. It will be confusing for the site administrators to find the links that they are looking for. This is where Admin Menu & Config Search proves to be useful. You simply type in your best guess of the link that you are looking for(such as config) and you will get a list of suggested links.

The search works asynchronously(via AJAX). And the links returned are only the ones that you are allowed to visit. For example, if your role only allows you to see the links under the Marketing section, your search results will only contain the links under this section. This feature is added to help website that has different types of admin users with different permission levels.

Note: These search features are available only for Backend and not for Frontend.
