Overview

Advanced Products Slider will help you to place a products slider anywhere in your store using Magento Widgets. For your business, we have made a very flexible and fast module. One of the main differences of our module is various rendering types (static, lazy, lazy & placeholder).

If you use a regular slider which is loaded statically, you risk losing download speed. For example, you display 3 sliders on the home page each having 36 items (products). Just imagine how long it takes for a browser to process the data right now: this includes thousands of code lines and at least 3 * 36 = 108 different resources (images, CSS, JS).  As a result, you will get a very low download speed. Our module will help you to delay the loading of the slider until the page is fully loaded if you want it just in a few steps.  The content of the pages will be filled gradually and it can lead to inconveniences.  For example, the page will "jump", or your customers will not understand at what point in time the content of the slider will appear. To solve this problem, we made an innovative type of rendering – “Lazy & Placeholder”.

Lazy & Placeholder” will help your customers to know exactly how soon the main content of the slider will appear instead of the placeholder.  Another strong suit of our module is the use of the OwlCarousel2 library.  This module includes the library and there is no need to download or connect it separately.  This library provides great opportunities in the slider settings (see the documentation).   All of this is an advantage over other sliders where you will not find such features.

Feature Summary

Types of Sliders

For your convenience, we have made 4 basic types of sliders. You also have an opportunity to filter the products collection, as you prefer, using Magento Conditions Rules.

  • Base Products
  • Bestsellers Products
  • Recently Viewed Products
  • Newest Products

Types of Rendering

Our module will allow you to choose different rendering types, depending on your needs and tasks.

  • Static – the slider will be rendered and initialized in the mainstream.
  • Lazy – the slider will be downloaded via an AJAX request, afterward it will be built in the mainstream.
  • Lazy & Placeholder – the slider will be downloaded via an AJAX request, afterwards, it will be built in the mainstream, but in the mainstream will contain a placeholder, which will indicate the loading of the main content of the slider. We recommend using this type as the main one.

Allowed Layout Blocks

It allows flexible content management of the blocks in your sliders. For example, you can display all available blocks or just a block of a picture/name in the slider.

  • Product Image
  • Product Name
  • Product Price
  • Product Short Description
  • Reviews Summary
  • Add to Cart
  • Add to Wishlist
  • Add to Compare

Types of Options

Our slider uses the OwlCarousel2 library. You can see how many different options this library has from the documentation. Therefore, we decided to write a function for you to use these options as you like.

  • Mixed – this type will be converted automatically. For example, the meaning “true” will be converted to Boolean and the meaning “loremdata” to String.
  • String – string data type.
  • Number – the numeric data type.
  • Float – a number with a floating sign.
  • Boolean – true or false.
  • Function – JavaScript function.
  • JSON – the meaning of this type is a JSON string, which will be converted to an array or object. For example: {"key1": "value1", "key2": "value2"} or [1,2,3].
