Overview

Orders with a small order value might not provide enough margin to you, as the merchant, to be profitable. On the other hand, you do want to be able to serve the customer and hopefully have them as repeat customers with a bigger order next time. Introducing a small order fee allows you to do both: the customers get the desired item and you can bump the order value so it is worth your while.

The extension allows you to either enforce a minimum order amount by charging a variable surcharge to make up the difference to your minimum amount or to add a predefined amount to the order. All surcharges, including your chosen description, are displayed to the end customer during the checkout process to keep the fee transparent.
