Overview

Frequently bought together extension for Magento 2 by FME EXTENSIONS automatically suggests products relevant to the one a customer is interested to buy. It mines your order data and based on the given minimum support count & confidence, extracts products that are frequently bought together. You can offer bundle discounts to increase their sales.

The extension is unique in the way it works. Unlike other similar extensions that use manual conditions, this extension uses the Apriori algorithm of data mining. You can import order data and the algorithm mines it to find frequent itemsets and generate association rules. Due to the algorithm’s high precision, the extension accurately displays products that customers frequently buy together.

Key Features

  • Import order data
  • Download data in CSV
  • Specify minimum support count
  • Specify minimum confidence
  • Select/unselect recommended products
  • Offer bundle discounts
  • Customize block label and the “Add to Cart” text
  • Design the FBT block

Increase Average Order Value

Magento 2 frequently bought together extension greatly increases your average cart value. It does so by bringing forward the most relevant products based on real order data. If a customer buys Milk, there is a high probability that he will also buy bread and butter. So it’s just a matter of bringing them to customer’s attention.

Import Order Data To Be Minded

Instead of setting manual conditions, this extension finds frequently bought together products from real order data. You import the data and the algorithm mines it to find what products occur together in most purchases and how often one product or a set of products is purchased with respect to another. These two findings provide the basis for precise automatic product recommendations.

Specify Minimum Support Count

Two key terms are used in the Apriori algorithm: Support and Confidence. Let’s see what they are and how they affect product selection. Consider the following orders and the products in each order.

  • Order 1: P1, P2, P3, P4
  • Order 2: P1, P4, P3
  • Order 3: P2, P4
  • Order 4: P1, P5, P3
  • Order 5: P1, P6, P5, P7
  • Order 6: P1, P2, P3
  • Order 7: P4, P6, P2
  • Order 8: P2, P4, P8

Support represents the popularity of an itemset in all transactions.  In above orders data, the support of {P1, P2, P3} is 2 out of 8, and that of {P2, P4} is 4 out of 8.

If you specify the Minimum Support Count as 4, the extension will consider itemsets that appear four or more than four times in the total number of orders and ignore the rest.

Specify Minimum Confidence

Confidence refers to the number of times an item Y is purchased when item X is purchased. In the above example, the Confidence of {P2 -> P4} is 80%. It means P4 is purchased 80% of the time whenever P2 is purchased.

If you specify the Minimum Confidence as 60, the extension will consider products purchased 60% or more than 60% of the time in relation to another product.

Select/Unselect Relevant Products

Customers have the option to select or unselect any of the recommended products. If they think a particular product is not very relevant or they don’t need it, they can deselect it and it will not be added to cart.

Offer Bundle Discount

You can attract customers to buy the related products by offering bundle discounts. Change the discount amount for each bundle from the grid. The discount will automatically apply to the total order value.

Customize Block Label & Add To Cart Text

The Magento 2 frequently bought together extension allows you to give the FBT block a customized title to make it noticeable for customers. Also, you can change the add to cart button text to a more personalized one.  The FBT block add to cart button adds all the selected relevant products to cart in a single click.

Design The FBT Block

Make the frequently bought together products block look good and stand out. You can change the label’s back and text colors.
