This extension making possible to divide customers by groups and link them to each other. You may ask: “Where is the benefit of the current option?” The answer is pretty easy:

By creating extended customer groups divided as Parent and Child groups with settled checkout and website viewing rights, you can segment customers not only in different groups but create a group with segmented members.

Practical Case

Let’s imagine that your web-store works with enterprise clients and sell some hardware. You can create customer groups for each of your clients' companies department by request.  For example, your client's company customer service department requested to create a group for them. If "Parent" group had already been created you can just create a new "Child" group and set up all needed configurations, such as group name, both-side connection methods, checkout permission, and others. That department's employees can create "Child" accounts and link it to "Parent" account. There are several ways to create and link accounts:

Account creating:

  1. An account can be created on the “Create Account” page via special registration to group block that can be placed under General account register block.
  2. An account can be created via a register block on the group page.

Account linking:

  1. “Child” account can be linked to “Parent” account via generated connection code. Just copy this code to a field in “Parent” account “connect account” page and push submit button. And vice versa.
  2. Linking “Child” and “Parent” accounts can be carried out via email and password block on the “Child” or “Parent” profiles “connect account” page.
  3. You can connect accounts with the help of the email request.
  4. You can set up all three ways of linking and give the choice to your customers.

All these activities allow Child group members to surf on your website, select products they need and add them to cart.  Parent accounts can switch to Child accounts, by going to the cart and proceeding with checkout by switching to “Parent” account on “Checkout” page.

Why it will work in this case:

  1. Big company’s customer service or any other department may count dozens of employees, by creating Customer Groups for them, you can make navigation, for “Child” group members, and control, for “Parent” accounts, much easier.
  2. It will help to segment customers not only in general but also inside one company with which you work.

Benefits:

  1. In-company segmentation. You can make special offers to each of the created group members, because of low-level customer segmentation. It will allow you to increase your sales.
  2. Increasing customers’ loyalty. By dividing customers to groups, you are creating a special comfortable environment for them on your website. They can spend more time on your site and accordingly they will increase the level of confidence in you.
  3. Client base strong extension. All the members of “Child” groups potentially your customers. You can create a segmented client base and attract your “Child” groups’ customers to make personal purchases.

Conclusion

The Customer Groups Advanced Management extension for Magento 2 is a strong tool for creating and managing customer groups.  Creating, configuring, linking, switching, and managing in only 5 steps, which can help you to segment customers, increase their loyalty, extend your client base, increase your sales and collect profit.  Five small steps for five big benefits.
