Overview
Back to topThis Configurable Products In Bundles extension for Magento 2 allows retailers to create bundles that can include configurable products. This functionality is useful in cases if Magento users want to provide an opportunity for the customers to purchase several combinations of a product simultaneously. Users will be able to select the most suitable configurable product options in a bundle and then specify its quantity.
As a result, the users can combine several related configurable products and then sell them as a single package.
Features
- The admin is able to add configurable products using the following bundle option input types including Radio Buttons, Checkboxes, and Drop-Downs.
- For each configurable product added to a bundle, the admin is able to define a list of product options that should be available on the storefront.
- Configurable products can be mixed with simple products in each option.
- The admin can define if Magento should separate bundle items to particular products or leave the bundle as a solid product after the 'Add to Cart' action.
- This setting could be defined for each bundle, even if it has no configurable products.
- The admin can enable options' thumbnails on PDP

Practical Case
John has an online store that sells water, water coolers, and other additional products. What benefits will the extension give him? John can easily preset a list of configurable products in the bundle, for example, Water Coolers, Water, and Cups. He can set a minimum quantity or fix it for each product, set product thumbnails showed within the bundle to make it more informative, and create fixed bundles for promotion. Bella is going to buy water with additional equipment for her offices and visiting John’s store online. It is critical for her to form bundles of products in order to deliver them further to various office locations.
John would like to make Bella’s customer experience easier, right in one click, proposing to pick several products and create bundles for better shopping. Bella adds 5 various water coolers, 20 water bottles, 50 cups and gathers them in one bundle. Then, she adds 5 similar bundles to cart and assigns different delivery addresses to them. John sees that Bella’s bundle is quite typical among other customers and decided to set this bundle as a special offer on the store with a discount price to increase sales.
In summary, Bella received a fast and easy shopping experience and will gratefully return to the shop for the next purchases. John acquired a highly-loyal customer and not only sold several products at once but explored the consumer demand in order to form ready-done solutions for further loyalty programs.
Two Ways To Use Bundles on Your Store
1. Fully-customized bundles of products, set by customers
An admin presets a list of possible products for a bundle, and a customer can tick the most necessary ones among the list, thereby creating an own bundle, and add the bundle to the basket in one click.
How it works: For example, the admin presets a list of 10 various water coolers, 10 types of water, and 10 types of cups, selects the quantity span of related items, and sets options' thumbnails. The customer will pick the desired items within the list.
Why it is used: Using the extension, you show all the suitable configurable products in one place. It expands customers’ choices and allows them to easily find any product they need within the page.
2. Partially-customized bundles, fixed product quantity, or limited selection
An admin presets a list of fixed products for a bundle, and a customer can define only 1-3 products, the rest products are preset by the admin and unchangeable so that the bundle presents a determined list of products with few variables. The number of changeable and unchangeable products within the bundle list can vary at the discretion of the admin (not only 1-3 products).
How it works: For example, the admin presets a list of several types of water coolers, several types of racks, but a fixed quantity of water bottles, sleeves of cups, and cup holders. Then, the admin can set a price only for watercooler and rack types, and promote fixed related products altogether without the ability to change them. In other words, if the number of the coolers and the racks are changeable but the other related products have been ratified, a customer will be able to choose only a necessary water cooler type and a rack type, but won’t be allowed to change the other related products.
Why it is used: By creating such bundles, you can promote and sell all your products as one, create special offers, and attract more customers. It will allow you to increase your sales and an average check. Bundles with suitable configurable or single products are a meaningful tool for additional sales.
Conclusion
The ‘Configurable Products In Bundles’ extension for Magento 2 is a strong tool for promotion and sales increase. Create different bundles with configurable products, expand your customer choice, make the finding and buying process easier and get benefits.
