As a PCI Level-1 certified company, we ensure that the payment data of your customers and buyers is safe. No Card Holder Data (CHD) or SAD (eg. CVV) ever flows through Magento’s systems. All PCI CHD/SAD communications are between the customer’s browser and our gateway, secured via TLS. The Magento extension only ever sees an opaque, non-reversible one-time-use payment token (GUID/UUID). The extension allows merchants’ customers to store cards for future payments. This too only stores a non-reversible opaque token on a Magento database – a GUID that references a card stored in Cayan’s Payment Vault, in our gateway. Learn more about PCI compliancy on our Support site (https://help.cayan.com/18006-privacy-security-and-compliance).

This aligns with PCI’s “Best Practices for Securing Ecommerce” doc for “Javascript Form process” – pages 15-17 of the linked document. We’re not a QSA. Per the “PCI best practices” doc linked above, the PCI SSC states on page 17 that: “Merchants using a JavaScript e-commerce implementation may be eligible for PCI SAQ A-EP, providing they meet the eligibility criteria of that SAQ. Merchants should consult with their acquirer (merchant bank) or with the payment brands directly to determine whether they are required to validate their PCI DSS compliance and which reporting method they should use. SAQ A-EP for PCI DSS v3.2 currently includes 191 requirements.”
