    CardGate is a payment service provider based in The Netherlands. We make it possible for consumers to pay safely and secure in webshops and we assist merchants to accept online payments. At this moment we serve more than 21000 webshops worldwide. We have an international (bank) license and can provide all the payment methods you need to do business all over the world. These are local European payment methods,  but also international payment methods, such as creditcards. We process creditcards in house which means we don’t use an acquiring bank.

    The extension is developed and updated by CardGate. Our payment methods will appear in the Payments section of your checkout, and integrate seamlessly along with the default payment options. For easy recognition, each payment method is displayed with its own name and payment logo. 

    We process Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, V-Pay, Visa Electron and Carte Bancaire, and local payment options such as iDEAL Bancontact and SOFORT, and many more. Our updates will provide you wih the best security and latest features for transaction processing.

     

    Account & Pricing

    A separate account is required and additional fees apply. Sign up for a Merchant account at CardGate to process payments. After filling in your API credentials into the Extension settings, your payment methods will be available for both test and real transactions.

    Pricing for CardGate services is transparent. Many providers will try to  tempt you with attractive fees. Only to later confront you with various other costs such as bank, checkout or connect costs. That's not how we do things at CardGate. We steer clear of small print and hidden costs, our fees are all-inclusive. So you know what to expect.

    Security

    Cardgate uses the highest standards of security. Our extension has been developed in compliance with PCI-DDS, GDPR, and PSD2 guidelines.

    The extension does not store any sensitive/private data. At checkout your customer will choose the payment method, and then be redirected to our secure payment platform where they can add further payment details if needed. After payment, a synchronised callback to your store will verify the transaction using hash verification and update the status of the order. After the synchronised callback, the customer will then be redirected to the order details of your shop.
