In the default Magento 2, the HTML sitemap feature is no longer available as it is in Magento 1. As sitemap plays an important role in search engine optimization for any website, the fact that this feature is missing may affect this process. Hence, the extension is developed to be an effective solution to this problem. The HTML sitemap is now auto-created in the backend with just a few configurations from the admin. In addition, it is an ideal tool to enhance SEO performance for your Magento 2 store.
1. Auto-generate HTML sitemap for each store view.
Once the installation of the module is completed, all the available store views will be update with their own HTML sitemap. The process of making is automatic and following admins’ configuration at backend. Links to categories, products, CMS pages and store views of are all included in there.
2. Auto-update when there are changes in store structure.
Magento store, like any ecommerce site, has a high frequency of changing in their products. Hence, the sitemap will be updated automatically without any action from admins.
3. Add meta data for the sitemap.
To archive search engine optimization at its best, the module allows admins to write meta data including meta description and meta keywords for the sitemap at backend. This helps the search engines index the site more easily.
4. Add external links to sitemap.
Not only containing internal links of Magento 2 store, the sitemap can also be enhanced with links from other websites. Admins can add any links they want and edit the anchor text from backend.
5. Customize listing order.
Among categories, products, CMS pages and store views, admins can define the order of which will be displayed first to get the most user-friendly sitemap.
