Overview

Although many experts recommend online stores to be as transparent in their product information as possible, there are still cases in which the hidden price is the best practice. Take the B2B business for example. The price must be kept confidential to protect the competitive advantages or customers can request a personalized price for bulk orders. Sometimes, the admin hides prices due to seasonal fluctuations or customizations. For whatever reason, the default Magento 2 fails to do so.

BSS Commerce introduces you to the Hide Price extension that fills the shortage and more. Accordingly, the admin can choose specific customer groups to hide prices on product pages and/or categories page or the whole website. Moreover, the Add to Cart button can be replaced by an informative message so that customers know how to get the price.

KEY FEATURES

Hide prices from specific products

The admin can hide prices globally or per products. It is based on marketing tactics. The Hide Price for Magento 2 extension expands the product edit page with an extra “Hide Price” tab. The admin can turn the price on and off per customer group at will and choose how to inform customers of the hide price function, either via a custom message and/or a custom link.

The extension works well with almost all product types except for the child products of bundle products.

Hide prices from selected categories

Besides hiding prices by going to individual products, the admin can also hide mass prices based on categories, for example, the Wholesale collections.

Similarly, the admin can choose multiple categories and customer groups from which he or she does not desire to publicize the prices.

Hide prices from multiple customer groups

As we mentioned above, the admin can pick multiple customer groups on the product edit page or the Hide Price Global Config to hide price.

Then, restricted users can not see prices when accessing product pages, catalog pages, search result pages, wishlists, compare pages, related/upsell/cross-sell product blocks.

Replace add to cart button with custom text/link

To ensure the shopping experience, the admin must clearly notify customers why they can not access the prices and if possible, how to get their desired prices. Moreover, it makes sense that customers should not be able to add products to the cart.

Using the Hide Price for Magento 2 extension, the admin can hide the Add to Cart button with an informative message and even link it to a URL, for example, the Contact Us page or the Login Page.

BENEFITS

Protect competitive prices from unwanted users

Price is among the best valuable content which helps a B2B website stay ahead of the competition. Hence, the admin should never expose it to the untargeted customers, for example, the non-logged-in users or retailer shoppers.

Encourage engagement to get great deals

Normally, the Hide Price function often goes hand in hand with the Request for Quote. By hiding both price and the Add to Cart button, the admin can motivate customers to take further actions to get personalized prices. Such as customers must login their accounts or contact the admin in advance.
