Catalog Permission

In the Magento 2 Community, categories and CMS pages are free to access for everyone. That said, your valuable content might be exposed to unwanted visitors. Catalog Permission for Magento 2 extension is developed to fill in this shortage!

The admin now can restrict catalogs/sub-categories and CMS pages to specific customer groups, for example, the B2B catalog for Wholesalers only. When ungranted visitors attempt to access the page, they are redirected to another page, such as 404 Page, Privacy Policy, or Contact Us. An error message will be shown as well. Moreover, the admin can hide the link of restricted categories or CMS pages on the menu/layered navigation. Features are basic but must-have for every website, especially B2B ones.

Key Features

Restrict Category/CMS Page Per Customer Group

Knowing how important the customer segmentation is, we expand the settings of the category with a selection of customer groups so that the admin can choose which group not to exclude the permission to that category. Similarly, on the CMS Edit Page, the admin can also restrict access to that CMS page to specific customer groups. For example, the Refund Policy page is not available for non-logged-in users.

Tailor Messages & Choose How To Redirect Users

To streamline the shopping experience, it is important to clearly inform the restriction and redirect users to another page including 404 Not Found, Privacy Policy, Homepage, Enable Cookies, About Us, Customer Services, or newly-created CMS pages. Using Catalog Permission for Magento 2 extension, the admin can customize a user-friendly message shown when visitors try to access restricted categories or CMS pages. For instance, “The page you requested is not available for your view. We are sorry for the inconvenience.”

Hide Restricted Categories/CMS Pages

To avoid confusion, the admin can completely hide links to categories or CMS pages from restricted customer groups. To be exact, the categories/CMS pages will not be shown in the top menu and the layered navigation.

Apply The Restriction To Sub-categories

Catalog Permission for Magento 2 extension holds a unique feature that differentiates it from other similar extensions. For business purposes, the admin can decide whether to apply the catalog permission setting of the parent category on its sub-categories. For example, Man Clothes is the parent category, which consists of two sub-categories: Tops, and Bottoms.  If the parent category Man Clothes is customer-restricted, the two sub-categories Tops and Bottoms are also restricted.

Provide A Perfect Tool For B2B Segmentation

Catalog Permission for Magento 2 extension is the quick and easy tool to limit access to specific catalogs for Wholesale customers only. It helps to emphasize the exclusiveness of wholesalers and boost special promotions for the B2B segment.

Target Customers Better

The restriction of catalogs and CMS pages per customer group also helps target customers better. As customers are redirected to suitable pages for their view, they have a much better experience. For example, if a private discount catalog is only available for the wholesale but other customers can also see it, they certainly feel like being left out and can leave the website immediately.
