Overview
Back to topEstimated Delivery Date by Blackbird Agency is a powerful extension for Magento 2 that adds expected dates of shipping and delivery to products and orders of your store. The extension is easy to configure in a few steps. Estimated Delivery Date is also really flexible as it is based on a conditional tree. The same way the native promotion tools of native Magento works, Estimated Delivery Date allows you to use all the existing attributes to build the preparation rule and the delivery rule. This information plays a triggering role in the purchase decision and will contribute to increase your conversion rate.
Examples :
- products with a certain color can be prepared in X days
- products from the second warehouse can be prepared in X days
- orders from a certain country need X days for delivery
etc...
This precision in the settings will help you to provide accurate information to your customers and enhance trust towards your brand.
Features
1- Start by creating groups of holidays
First of all, you need to exclude the days off, public holidays and annual closure of your warehouse.
In the first step, you just create groups, one group or more. These groups are just made to make the next steps of the configuration easier. Indeed you will have to exclude holidays in both preparation and delivery rules, you will just have to select the corresponding groups.
For instance, there is one warehouse in France and one in the UK, the groups can be :
- Public Holidays (France)
- Public Holidays (UK)
- Days-off
- Annual Closure (France)
- Annual Closure (UK)
2- Assign the days-off to the groups
Select a day-off and add it to a group. Repeat this step so that every day-off is in a group.
You can select a fixed day :
- 25 of December 2018
- 25 of December of every year
- every day of March 2018
or a flexible day :
- First sunday of January 2019
- Second Tuesday of every month 2018
3- Set the preparation rule
This rule determines the lead time, or how long will it take to prepare a certain product. It can be a general rule for the whole website or it can be defined very specifically to almost each product one by one if necessary.
This rule can be different from one website to another, that make sense especially if you work in different countries or with different warehouses.
- You can also select your cut-off time.
This is the time after which your order will be prepared the next day. Select 15:00 if orders passed after this time will be prepared the next day.
- Set the priority : if more than one rule correspond to one product, you have to define a priority to tell which rule will apply : 1 is low priority, 10, 100 and more for higher priorities. You can check the priority in the grid.
Conditions :
If different preparation rules apply to your store, you can set some conditions on the catalog and/or on the cart as well :
Conditions on Catalog
Based on attributes, you can add all the existing attributes: attribute set, category, color, gender, SKU...
Conditions On cart
These conditions depend on the order of the customers :
- Total weight
- Total Items quantity
- Shipping method
4- Set the delivery rule
Repeat the same steps for the delivery rules. The conditions can be the country or the ZIP code of your customer.
Conditions :
It is possible to select conditions based on the country, the zip code and the conditions of the cart.
5- Message customization and translation management
The expected preparation and delivery dates can be displayed in different places, the message itself is also customizable.
The message displayed will depend on the shipping preferences determined for the website. In case your order has different products with different preparation dates and delivery dates :
- Only the last date : grouping products in one order.
- Shipping product one by one if they have different availabilities.
Estimated Delivery Date by Blackbird is a powerful Magento 2 extension that allows a really fine configuration for you to give the right information to your client.
