Bazaarvoice maintains the integration with Magento 2 in the form of an extension for Magento. This best-practice implementation of Bazaarvoice Conversations for your Magento 2 storefront includes:
- Product Catalog Integration (“Product Feed”) that sends catalog data to Bazaarvoice to enable reviews using either a small pixel on the product detail page or a nightly full-catalog file transfer.
- Ratings & Reviews display and collection on product detail pages, and ratings display on product listing pages and product list widgets (like Related Products) via a small javascript library.
- Questions & Answers display and collection on product pages via a small javascript library.
- BV Pixel (Reporting & Analytics integration), which is a pixel on the order success page that sends Bazaarvoice data about the order. This enables Bazaarvoice to later send the user a review request for soliciting reviews. Either this or the review request feed can be used for sending Bazaarvoice order data.
- BV “Cloud” SEO System which adds a small amount of SEO HTML to the product detail page that enables review information to be indexed by search engines.
- Review Requests for soliciting reviews after purchase by sending Bazaarvoice order information in a nightly file feed. Either this or the BV Pixel can be used for sending Bazaarvoice order data.
- Hosted Authentication which is an email that Bazaarvoice uses to verify the user's email address when they have written a review.
- Container Page which is a generic HTML document that Bazaarvoice uses to create dedicated submission pages. Bazaarvoice always directs mobile submission requests to a container page.

Features
Product Catalog Integration
To get the most out of the Bazaarvoice platform, you must provide data about your product catalog to Bazaarvoice. This includes data about the brands, product categories, and products that you offer.
The Bazaarvoice for Magento Extension includes support for either:
- Sending ongoing, automatic product data to Bazaarvoice as products are visited via a small script on the Product Detail Page
(termed Dynamic Catalog Collection or DCC). - Generating a nightly full-catalog product catalog feed XML file feed and uploading the file via SFTP to Bazaarvoice.
Ratings & Reviews
The reviews module displays a list of ratings and reviews from each consumer who submitted a review on the product detail page. If comments are enabled and consumers submit comments to a review, the comments are also displayed by this module. Reviews are typically placed below the product image and description. The module also displays the average rating for each product on product listing pages and widgets.
Questions & Answers
This module shows questions & answers provided by consumers on the product detail page. Questions and answers are typically placed below the product image and description.
BV Pixel
BV Pixel is an analytics tag on the checkout success page. This tag provides a small set of data elements to BV when an online user completes the checkout process. BV Pixel is implemented using JavaScript, and it is similar to other analytics-tracking services from Google Analytics or Omniture.
After you implement BV Pixel, in Bazaarvoice you can:
- Generate valuable insights into your consumer-generated content (CGC) program.
- Discover key information about the impact of Bazaarvoice content on your online business.
- Use Bazaarvoice features to increase the volume of CGC.
- Generate return-on-investment (ROI) reports related to key performance indicators.
- Evaluate return-on-ad spend (ROAS).
- Use data collected about consumers along with CGC to target the right shoppers at the right time.
Either the BV pixel or the review request feed can be used to send transaction data to Bazaarvoice.
BV SEO
The Magento extension utilizes the Bazaarvoice Cloud SEO solution. Bazaarvoice-managed SEO content is injected into your pages' source code via a server-side software development kit (SDK).
Review Request Feed
This feature generates a nightly XML file feed containing recent order information and uploads the file via SFTP to Bazaarvoice, who will then use it to generate review requests. Review request messages invite your customers to leave reviews for online and offline purchases and service interactions. These are essential to driving volume, and it adds significant product coverage, content freshness, and search engine optimization (SEO) value.
Either the BV pixel or the review request feed can be used to send transaction data to Bazaarvoice.
Hosted Authentication
With hosted authentication, users authenticate using their email addresses when they click the “Write a review” link on a product page or click a submission link in a Review request message. No additional configuration is required.
Container Page
A container page is a generic HTML document that Bazaarvoice uses to create dedicated submission pages that are hosted on your website. The page acts as a container for submission forms like a Ratings & Reviews form. Bazaarvoice always directs mobile submission requests to a container page.
