Overview

Follow Up Email extension for Magento 2 registers certain customer activities to send notification emails with the relevant content. An email of this kind is more effective than a random email, because it engages customers based on their actual store activity. For example, if a customer has abandoned his cart, then he will receive an email reminder to come pick it up. If someone purchased a month worth of pet food, then a month later he may be invited to buy some more. The exact applications are up to you.

Follow Up Email offers five customer triggered email events for sending relevant messages. Every event covers a particular aspect of the customer’s store activity: registration, placing orders, etc. When the event is triggered, an email message is sent to the customer’s email address. Multiple email templates may be created for a single event, adjusting email subject, content and signature.

Each event email may be scheduled to fire at the appropriate time. For example, an Abandoned Checkout email may be set to fire 30 minutes after the customer has left a cart at the store, or a customer may be asked for a product review two weeks after an order has been shipped.

Feature highlights

Trigger event types

Available trigger events: abandoned cart, order status changed, customer registration, last customer activity, customer birthday.

Same events may be triggered under different circumstances. For example, an abandoned cart might be of $10 total in one case, and $1,000 in another. The store administrator may use custom conditions to send different emails matching different circumstances.

Built-in email templates

Several templates have been prepared based on best industry practices. Those may not be a perfect match, but will save some start-up time.

Writing tools

What-You-See-is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) editor allows writing emails without any knowledge of HyperText Markup Language.

Scheduling options

A follow-up email may be sent any time after the event has been triggered.

Consecutive emails

A number of consecutive emails may be scheduled for any given trigger event.
