The Advanced Search extension for Magento 2 allows users to benefit from the rapid and straightforward search process. Thanks to the powerful combination of Elasticsearch, autocomplete suggestions, typo corrections, and enhanced Magento synonyms the extension is beneficial for online businesses of each scale.

The Elasticsearch engine provides rapid workflow. Autocomplete suggestions save customers time since they appear immediately, as soon as customers start typing in the search area. Moreover, the available search results can be further enriched thanks to the integration of this extension with the Aheadworks Blog and FAQ modules providing additional search opportunities.

Business Value

The Advanced Search functionality makes on-site search comprehensive and ensures an advanced user experience. The mode is able to:

  • Improve customers contentment by delivering exceptionally relevant search results;
  • Lead customers to target products and purchases;
  • Streamline and accelerate the shopping process thanks to the implementation of Elasticsearch

Feature Highlights

More opportunities for search

Besides the standard ‘search by products’ option, the extension provides the opportunity to find information on static pages, and the pages created by the Aheadworks Blog and FAQ extensions for Magento 2.

Search autosuggestions

As soon as users start typing their queries, the extension offers some recommendations based on the first entered characters. It saves customers time considerably because shoppers don’t have to type search queries in full.

The search popup may include product suggestions, recent searches, and content fragments. Customers can either select a certain result or tap the ‘All Search Results’ button. The pages with search results display both the products containing the search term and their synonyms.

Search and catalog powered by Elasticsearch

Properly configured and connected, Elasticsearch ensures an accelerated store workflow. Elasticsearch is also in charge of spelling corrections with the ‘Did you mean’ search’ option that allows displaying proper results despite misspellings.

Index Management

The Index Management page introduces various types of indexes including products, CMS, blog (Blog by Aheadworks), and FAQ (FAQ by Aheadworks) pages, and also allows adding custom searchable attributes.

Convenient backend

The extension has a detailed ‘General Settings’ page with the ‘Search Autocomplete Suggestions’ configuration tab. It also provides convenient synonym groups management facilities.

Failure-proof support

Even if the remote Elasticsearch server is not available, the module enables the native MySQL search engine preventing any failures of the search functionality.

Rich set of usability features

The module is completed with a mobile-friendly interface and keyboard navigation support for the search pop-up. Also, there is the 'Back to Search Results' link on product pages for better navigation.
