OverviewBack to top
The Assign Order To User extension adds two new columns to the order grid on the Orders screen: “Assign” and “Assigned To”. A single click on an "Assign" button brings up the Assign Order to User interface displaying options for who to assign the order to within your organization. A second click assigns the order to a user. The user will see the order assigned to them when they login to Magento and navigate to the Orders screen.
Assign Order to User is ideal for managing individual orders and exceptions in your fulfillment workflows and can be used by any size of business with any number of users or locations.
You aren’t required to assign orders to users to ship them, but there are several advantages when you do:
- Ability to manually assign an order to a user to work on the order
- Set permissions and restrictions for each user to give them access only to the orders assigned to them
- Only one user can be assigned to an order, but you can change the assigned user at any time
- Assigned user data is stored on the order record and is included in order exports
- Assigned To can be used as criteria for Saved Filters and Views
Manually Assign Order To User
Admins can now assign an order to a user (i.e. a named individual within your organization) to work on the order. For example, you can assign an order to a warehouse operator for shipping and fulfillment, or to a member of the finance team to process a full or partial refund, or to a customer service operator to resolve a customer query or service issue prior to dispatch.
Set User Permissions & Restrictions
Administrators can define and save user roles and role resources in your account, giving users access only to the orders that have been assigned to them.
Change the User Any Time
Only one user can be assigned to an order, but you can change the assigned user at any time.
Stored User Data
Assigned user data is stored on the order record so it can be included in order exports.
Flexible Filters & Views
Assigned user data can be used as criteria for saved filters and views on the Orders tab. Admins can also use the Orders tab to make the “Assign” and “Assigned To” columns visible or invisible using the Column Settings drop-down. Admins can also drag and drop the “Assign” and “Assigned To” columns to their preferred position on the orders grid.
