My name is Sjoerd Overdiep and I’m a full time Internet entrepreneur making a living from this new and dynamic world of cloud hosting like AWS Amazon. I’m also active on many communities such as Magento ® Connect… but more of that shortly. FROM HOBBY TO PROFESSION Back in 1999 I stumbled upon an article about ‘Webshops’. I didn’t know it at the time but that moment changed my life. I know that statements like that belong on those cheesy ‘buy my $1000 training program’ sites (don’t worry I’m not selling anything more than a book) but it is actually true. Within 24 hours of reading the article I had started my own webshop – a small webshop for pet products and I have been hooked on webshops and the internet ever since. I’ve learned so much from the experience of that webshop that I’ve since started many other webshops and blogs. So in the 10 years that followed I have done more than my share of internet related jobs and became more and more a Internet entrepreneur. 2009 THE YEAR OF PAGAYO Pagayo was founded in 2009 with one BIG goal: to make a better hosting company. Built on open source applications, we’ve since grown to become one of the world’s largest providers of cloud-based online solutions. Operating form the east of Holland we are servicing people around the world. Thanks to the AWS Cloud we can service people where they live. Or we can host where they want to do business.
